It would sound better if you said... calculus instead of physics formulas. Projectile formulas are just integrated acceleration and gravity.
So for your further education into advanced programming; here is the secret of calculus.
n is the exponent; imagine parabolic formulas
Derivatives
dy/dx = nx^(n-1)
Integral
/y = (1/(n + 1))x^(n+1)
So you see this 'planning' stuff is applicable everywhere, including in the making of those physics formulas. Good luck. Unfortunately I can't even see your example because of a huge reformatting thing recently... But I know the physics stuff.
