<description>
Seems like an epic way to start a new page of people, because there is nothing more humiliating than being eaten by a furry in her underwear.

Started working on the mural again, will be using some new techniques I learned in SAI to speed up making the line art. Some of you should be very afraid of what your rendition may be, as you guys have enabled my ASSHAT mode.

Anyways, the second tier of people is going to start with sir Xemic:
[hide=Not exactly safe for work]
Surprise, bitch x3[/hide]

Queue of people (no specific order):

DaggerHog as Alexia the Rabbit riding on one of those smiley things from the game;

Flashback holding back DesertFox;

Cpsgames playing the bass with Juju;

Grand-High and HeroofTime55 standing on a pile of dead furries, including Requiem (almost dead).

Ferret will be drawn as an oversized ferret with a huge tongue;

Obelisk as his human self, wearing his Batman shirt modified to say &amp;quot;batshit insane&amp;quot;;

mazimadu holding Kyle in his arms;

Scott_AW as his human self, in voxelized form;

KaBob as an alien gorging himself on a wheel of cheese;

Vanhelsing...?;

Marbs: a dalmatian wearing a British police helmet;

               <description> Heh, I didn&amp;#039;t mean to worry you guys with that ragequit (though I assume that none of you even cared in the first place). I did that on purpose to cause even more drama because I am a bit of an attention whore as well (contrary to what I was implying in ErikBunny&amp;#039;s blog). However, I am considering taking a break from 64D. Classes are starting in exactly two weeks, and I move into my dorm on the 19th. I should probably start looking for things to do before I move out of town.

I finally got my own bicycle again. After going to my latest doctor&amp;#039;s appointment today, I went to a local Goodwill store and bought a good bike for $40. So far it handles just as good as my Schwinn bike that my brother got stolen (makes me REALLY sad ;_;). Since I haven&amp;#039;t really gotten the chance to ride around in a bicycle during summer break, I think I should go on a long bike ride tomorrow morning after I finish tweaking it. Unlike the last time I went on an epic bike ride, I think I should take some money, a cellphone, and some water this time.

64DIGITS
[ln]
WAY too much drama for me to handle at the moment, though it seems like it&amp;#039;s finally dying down (thank fuck &amp;gt;_&amp;gt;).

ErikBunny (aka blackhole) and Zaron, please consider taking my advice. You&amp;#039;ll both learn to see that 64digits isn&amp;#039;t filled with asshats like Rob, Toast, MMORPGguy, and HeroofTime55 (yes I called you guys asshats, wanna fight about it?). We have a lot of nice people that make it worthwhile being part of 64digits (Ferret, marbs, Kilin, KaBob799, eagly and DesertFox being exemplary, along with others). Don&amp;#039;t let the recent events discourage you guys from coming back here. I should have done this in the first place, but if you guys need to talk, my MSN is coolgeorge423[AT]hotmail.com (because IRC can be pretty unsettling at times).

Moving on to database stuff. Unless DesertFox and firestormx finally decide to take away my ftp/db access, I would like to finally contribute something good to the site. I&amp;#039;m not going to explain what it is yet NOT because I want it to be a surprise, but it&amp;#039;s because you guys do have a tendency to pick apart things to the point of discouragement when giving criticism (not all the time, but sometimes). Don&amp;#039;t get me wrong, I enjoy criticism from you guys, but I think that I should leave the criticism up to the admins+others with db access before I put it out there for you guys to see. DesertFox, please give me some more time to prove my worthiness of having database access. D: pweez pweez pweez :3

The 64mural is currently dormant because I got bored of it. I will consider continuing it when the drama completely disappears.

Speaking of contributions, what do you guys think about the randomized text in the flash banner? DesertFox coded the thing, and I&amp;#039;ve been adding a bunch of messages all week. According to Cesque (who should really shut his smart, Polish mouth LOL I PLAYED THE RACISM CARD), the banner is now like the intro of an episode of Futurama. Feel free to recommend messages, so long as they are in good taste.

Take it easy you guys.

        <title>As I move away from the design phase... by Cyrus</title>
               <link>http://64digits.com/users/index.php?userid=Cyrus&amp;cmd=comments&amp;id=268622</link>
               <description> I finally forcing myself to work on the mechanics of my game. My summer is almost over, and I at least want to get the mechanics of my adventure platformer-ish game finished before I begin school. I can&amp;#039;t guarantee that the game won&amp;#039;t become vaporware, but I don&amp;#039;t think there&amp;#039;s anything else I&amp;#039;d rather work on (game making-wise). I don&amp;#039;t have any screenshots worthy of demonstrating my progress, but I will tell you guys that I&amp;#039;m working on both the 2D skeletal animations and tweaking the platform engine I&amp;#039;m using.

I&amp;#039;ve been messing around with Sk2d for a while now, and I&amp;#039;m excited to know about it&amp;#039;s editor being remade in C++ with the glitches of the previous editor being fixed (hopefully). Sk2d is a pretty useful DLL, and it will definitely save me a lot of time with animating my characters. The characters can easily be customized just by changing the sprites that make up the body parts.

Sprites will look similar to this:

I made this back in February, and I decided not to use this style of art, but instead a more cartoonish-cel shaded style that I defined these reference images that I made of my game&amp;#039;s two protagonists:
[tnail width=640 height=300]http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b132/coolgeorge423/referencefinal.png[/tnail]
Regarding character sprites, my ultimate goal is to make them look as closely to these reference images as possible using 2d bone animations.

TL;DR PLOT
[ln]
Most of the plot is already finished, but I&amp;#039;m just showing you guys the first parts of it. Straight up, I&amp;#039;ll tell you guys that my game&amp;#039;s plot is separated into a main plot and two subplots, and throughout the game you will see how they all come together, so there really isn&amp;#039;t a lot of mystery to my plot. The background story focuses on the main plot, and the first act introduces the villain&amp;#039;s subplot along with bits of Lola&amp;#039;s side of the story.

[hide=Plot + 1st Act]The whole game revolves around a magical relic (haven&amp;#039;t decided what it&amp;#039;s going to be yet - probably a book or something) that has been protected by two bloodlines, the McLotor and Roland families, for generations since medieval times. Members of the Roland family have unrestricted control over the power of the relic, and members of the McLotor family are the designated defenders of the relic. Almost 250 years before the events of the game, a man manages to get a hold of the magical relic by breaking into the fortress-like mansion in which it is stored. In response, two men, each a descendant of the two bloodlines, are sent to the mansion to regain control of the relic. One of the men, a member of the McLotor family, confronts the man as he is harnessing the power from the relic into a wand (I thought only members of the Roland family have control of the relic; first plot hole D:). After a quick brawl, the man defeats the McLotor and proceeds to transform him into an animal: a raccoon. In the middle of the transformation, the other man, a member of the Roland family, comes to aid the McLotor by shooting the wand out of the man&amp;#039;s hand with a pistol he finds. The wand explodes into a fireball of energy that engulfs the three men. Without anyone to sustain the energy coming out of the wand, all three men are only partially transformed into werewolf-like raccoons rather than full raccoons. All three men go their separate ways and escape from the burning mansion. McLotor leaves the mansion with the relic in his possession and runs off into a nearby forest, not realizing that he has turned into a raccoon-man until he looks at his own reflection in a creek he falls into.

The story then fast forwards almost 220 years into the late 1980&amp;#039;s. The most recent descendants of both the Roland and McLotor families run into each other in Europe. They exchange tips on how they&amp;#039;ve managed to suppress the raccoon spell in order to blend into society, but most importantly they want to study the relic that Mr. Sterling, the most recent McLotor descendant, has been keeping for generations as well as looking back in their past in hopes of finding a way to reverse the spell. Mr. Roland (also the most recent descendant, pending a change in last name) recommends that Mr. Sterling should store the relic within a vault in a museum that he owns in New York City. Mr. Sterling moves to NYC with his wife and weeks before the decade ends, the game&amp;#039;s protagonist, Shawn, is born.

In 2005, Shawn loses both of his parents in a violent car accident in which both Mr. Roland and his wife were passengers as well. Unfortunately, Mr. Roland is the only survivor, and he is left mourning with his 8-year-old daughter, Ginny. Mr. Roland takes Shawn under his wing.

The game itself takes place 6 years from now. Shawn Sterling is a 26-year-old clich&eacute; New York detective who seems to like doing things &amp;quot;by the book&amp;quot;. At this point in his life, he is well aware of the curse that he has inherited from his parents, but he has no clue why he has it in the first place. For most of his life, he has used a combination of potions and amulets to suppress the curse, mostly temporary solutions. The only person that he can turn to for questions, Mr. Roland, can never give him a straight answer, even though he possesses the same curse. Unable to understand anything, Shawn selfishly takes advantage of his curse to accelerate his career. Being a raccoon, Shawn possesses increased agility that he uses to perfect his stealth skills to secretly collect evidence for many of his cases, practically making him a vigilante. When necessary, he puts on his gear (consisting of a blue stab vest, knee and elbow pads, and a blue ski mask) and goes out to do what he does best, sometimes with the aid of his close friend, JoAnna (yes, the fox-girl, although she can shapeshift at her own will).

One day he screws up by accidentally confronting a group of drug dealing thugs in Central Park. After a short brawl, Shawn manages to defeat the thugs, all but one who manages to get him by surprise and remove his ski mask, exposing his raccoon face before being knocked unconscious as well. Shawn quickly leaves the scene before the cops arrive to round up the gang. In a press conference that follows a few days after the incident, the police release the details of the last thug&amp;#039;s interrogation, frequently mentioning that the supposed vigilante is a raccoon. The statements are quickly labeled as a hoax under the assumption that they have been influenced by the controlled substances found in the thug&amp;#039;s system. After the conference, Shawn pays a visit to Mr. Roland and Ginny. Infuriated about Shawn&amp;#039;s little secret, Mr. Roland gives him the choice to either stop his vigilantism or cut off all communication with him and his daughter. Selfishly, Shawn chooses the second choice.

FIRST ACT
Characters introduced:
-Main mob boss
-Yakuza boss
-Main villain: He has become obsessed with finding the relic that the McLotor and Roland families have been keeping for generations. After hearing news about the &amp;quot;raccoon vigilante&amp;quot;, he and his henchmen travel from Europe to NYC. After 5 months of investigation among the community of magicians/wizards/etc, their search ultimately leads them to Mr. Roland&amp;#039;s museum, unaware that he is a descendant of the Roland family. Oblivious to the reunion of the McLotor and Roland families, he assumes that the McLotors are the only one involved.
-Henchman #1: Direct descendant of the man who originally tried to steal the relic. Like Shawn, Ginny and Mr. Roland, he also possesses the curse that he is able to suppress as well. The main villain convinces him that he is the descendant of the McLotor family, and that he should help him retrieve it back. Somewhat ninja-like, but very calm.
-Henchman #2: Like JoAnna, he is a shapeshifter, however the badger is his animal of choice. He is a lot more violent than Henchman #1.
-Lola: In this act, it is not supposed to be immediately apparent what her role in the story is. The player is left wondering how she manages to confront Shawn in his raccoon form.

5 months pass by and Shawn is close to cracking his most recent case involving a local crime syndicate. The thug from the drug deal in Central Park, now an informant, tips him off about a meeting that the local mob bosses are having in an office building. The first mission begins with Shawn trying to convince JoAnna to help him out with one last mission. She refuses at first, but eventually gives in once her role in the mission is established. The mission starts with Shawn in raccoon form being dropped off a block away from the office building. The player&amp;#039;s goal is to scale the building and stick a listening device on the window of the room in which the meeting takes place. After doing so, the player is supposed to scale down the building and enter the apartment building across the street and set up his spying tools (digital telescope, transmitter, etc.), in a conveniently vacant room that is directly across from the room in the office building. The player eavesdrops on a conversation between the boss of the local gang and the boss of a Yakuza-type gang. Being paranoid, the first boss accuses the second boss of using snitches to eliminate the competition. The second boss reveals that his organization has been victimized by the unknown vigilante as well, resulting in a great loss of profits. Both mob bosses cannot reach a conclusion on how to stop this vigilante until the main villain and his two fully masked henchmen come in wearing goggles and carrying duffle bags.

Although his involvement in the meeting was known ahead of time, the main villain refuses to introduce himself when asked. The first henchman wearing the goggles is staring out the window, focused on the people that he can easily see in their apartments via infrared. Once again, the main villain is asked to identify himself. The first mob boss says &amp;quot;Hey, you must be that guy that flew in from...&amp;quot; before being shushed. With the duffel bag, he silently walks towards the window and takes out a weird-looking device, points it at the listening device stuck on the window, and pulls the trigger. The listening device begins to spark, and Shawn flinches due to the high-pitched sound that he receives on his headset. The main villain finally begins to speak in a British accent: &amp;quot;Did anyone even notice this transmitter on the window? Bloody hell, you guys are in worse shape than I thought.&amp;quot; The villain proceeds to identify himself as a &amp;quot;mob boss&amp;quot; coming from the UK who claims to be affected by the situation with the vigilante as well. He offers to help the local gangs by providing them with gadgets that aid in the defense against the vigilante. In exchange, the villain demands that the vigilante be captured alive, along with another favor involving Mr. Roland. The two bosses doubt that his help will work until the first henchman reveals that he has spotted the vigilante across the street after flinching to the sound of the dying listening device, still trying to spy on the meeting without an audio feed to listen in on the villain&amp;#039;s plans.

The second mission begins with the main mob boss quickly commanding his crew in the parking lot of the office building to investigate the apartment building that the player is staying in.. The player&amp;#039;s goal is to escape from the apartment building. After a confrontation with the crew and the thug once again, the player escapes from a window onto the roof of an automobile repair shop that is next door. The mission ends here.

Third mission: The player proceeds to enter the repair shop through the rooftop entrance and find an exit to the streets. Right before the player exits the building, he is held up by a woman who catches him by surprise. Using a taser, the woman tries to subdue the player, leading to the game&amp;#039;s first boss fight. The fight ends with Shawn slapping the taser out of the woman&amp;#039;s hands and knocking her down to the ground. As Shawn is walking away towards the exit, the woman lunges towards her taser, picks it up and fires it as Shawn&amp;#039;s back. Shawn falls to the ground as he spasms out. The woman approaches Shawn and pulls off his ski mask. &amp;quot;Yeah, it&amp;#039;s him&amp;quot; she says into her Bluetooth device. Before she utters another word, Shawn grabs one of her ankles, causing her to pull and hold down the trigger of the taser gun. They both continue to be electrocuted until the taser burns out. The woman falls to the floor next to Shawn, unconscious. Via her bluetooth device, Shawn can hear a man exclaiming &amp;quot;LOLA, PLEASE RESPOND DAMMIT. WHAT&amp;#039;S GOING ON?&amp;quot;. Shawn quickly recovers from his muscle spasms, and heads towards the exit. Seeing that the mob boss&amp;#039;s crew is quickly approaching the building, Shawn turns back, grabs the woman, and exits out the back door.

Fourth mission: While carrying the woman, the player must head towards the extraction point where JoAnna will pick them up, avoiding the crew and their flashlights. After arriving at the extraction point, the player enters JoAnna&amp;#039;s van, and the scene ends with them dropping off the unconscious woman at a bus stop far away from the scene.

The act finale begins with Shawn, as a human, resting in his office a few days later. Pondering in the dark, Shawn looks back at his previous cases while staring at the newspaper clippings he has hung on his wall, each one representing a successful case. His smart phone begins to ring. He is shocked to see that the caller ID is from Ginny, so he answers the phone. She is frantically crying, asking for help. Her father had been shot while defending him and Ginny in a home invasion involving 3 people: both henchmen and a professional that had been hired by the mob to work for them, as part of the favor that the villain asked for. Although the professional is killed in the home invasion, henchman #2 is the gunman. It wasn&amp;#039;t his intention to shoot Mr. Roland, as he was only acting on instinct.

The act ends with Shawn and Ginny in the hospital. Knowing that he is going to die soon, Mr. Roland leaves Shawn with a clue to help start his journey on discovering the truth about his ancestors&amp;#039; past. Shawn has no idea who killed Mr. Roland, and the he only has three clues: the evidence he collected from the meeting, the identity of the professional that serves as the connection between the home invasion and the crime syndicate he is investigating, and the clue that was just given to him.

NOTE: Please forgive any spelling, grammar and consistency mistakes, I typed this up in notepad at 3AM. DX

I would have to say that games like Castlevania: Bloodlines and Ninja Gaiden heavily influenced my plot. Not exactly the most clever plot that one could write, but hey it&amp;#039;s the best I can do with little plot-writing experience.

LIFE
[ln]
I start school in a couple of weeks. My roommate was randomly assigned to me: someone I knew in high school. It&amp;#039;s cool and all, but I&amp;#039;m a bit bummed out due to the fact that I decided not to be roommates with my close friend for the specific reason of extending our circle of friends. I don&amp;#039;t think my roommate is too excited about it either because he hasn&amp;#039;t confronted me on Facebook yet, but whatever.

I am extremely bored. Most of my friends (and you guys) have already started school. I wish I started school as early as you guys. Also, It&amp;#039;s Always Sunny in Philadelphia is an awesome show. My brother torrented every single episode that we don&amp;#039;t already have on DVD and we&amp;#039;ve been watching them all week. The first thing I hear every time I wake up now is the theme song to the show.

If you haven&amp;#039;t played The Outfoxies already, please do so. It&amp;#039;s an awesome game. I&amp;#039;m still trying to beat those damn twins...:3

               <description> And I forgot to mention that I already came back from orientation last week today. I walked around the campus SO MUCH because orientation sessions were held in classes/lecture halls that were at least a quarter mile apart from each other, MINIMUM. I swear to god, I thought my feet were bleeding at one point. Also, I had two roommates for orientation: an asian and a mexican. They were pretty cool guys, so we exchanged info and added each other on Facebook.

Thoughts about my new university:

-HUGE campus
-Lots of bikes (including &amp;quot;wild&amp;quot; ones that are abandoned by students who either transferred out, got expelled, or bought/stole a better bike).
-The dorms are ok. I haven&amp;#039;t gotten word on who my roommate is going to be, but all I know is that I might be placed in a building full of engineers.
-It&amp;#039;s a shame to know that even though there are plenty of engineers in general, computer science engineers are a rare breed of students here. ECS classes will be small, I&amp;#039;m just hoping that the quality of the education is decent.
-Buffet-style cafeteria. I&amp;#039;m already changing my meal to 1 meal a day (dinner), so I don&amp;#039;t mind living off of a ramen or cream cheese bagel breakfast for the first quarter. Then again, I could choose to eat nothing like the good old days, very filling (but not as filling as sarcasm).

Anyways...

Got 40k hits last week. Now I&amp;#039;m at 41k hits. O_o

Couldn&amp;#039;t update the mural for the past few days, a random sickness kept me in bed. I was too tired to even use my tablet.

Watched Scott Pilgrim last week. &amp;#039;twas awesome, though some of the retro references were overdone, tbh.

Speaking of retro, I am planning to make my own retro-style minigame DONE CORRECTLY. It&amp;#039;s going to retro in the sense that it will try to imitate arcade games from the late 80&amp;#039;s/early 90&amp;#039;s, during the height of the 16-bit era and when arcade hardware started to become epic (moving away from PSG sounds and simple sprites and backgrounds to FM Synthesis and full-blown sprite and background scaling+rotating). The game will most likely copy the art styles of CPS-1 games. Genre? Probably a platform shooter. Music? I&amp;#039;ve been helping out flip82 with VOPM, a VST that emulates the YM2151 sound chip that was very common in arcade hardware during the 80&amp;#039;s and 90&amp;#039;s. With the patches that I have given him, he made a short tune that demonstrates them.

I&amp;#039;ll keep working on this project until I get bored with it and decide to keep working on my other game that I keep mentioning but never show examples of my progress. When that happens, I&amp;#039;ll probably release the gmk.

Take it easy,

        <title>Mod powers. by Cyrus</title>
               <link>http://64digits.com/users/index.php?userid=Cyrus&amp;cmd=comments&amp;id=268398</link>
               <description> I only gave myself mod powers for a few minutes just to see how it feels like. Will not do it again [s]without approval.[/s]

So yeah, I apologize.

EDIT: wouldn&amp;#039;t it be nice if people who have access to the cPanel got their own badge that looks similar to the mod/admin ones?

EDIT2: I&amp;#039;ve got something for y&amp;#039;all to fix: checking the &amp;quot;Userpage at Login&amp;quot; box in your Preferences locks you out of 64D. Dunno if it happens to other people as well, but I needed to go into phpMyAdmin and set my &amp;quot;redirect&amp;quot; value back to 0 in the user_settings table. I&amp;#039;ll probably try to fix it myself.

I am approaching 40k hits...I&amp;#039;M EXCITED!
[col=#FFFFFF]not really...[/col]
