Placto Remake
June 23, 2008

I guess it's about time for a new a blog entry. It has been a while. Well, Placto was the first game I ever completed. It's a platform game and you are a little white character. Your goal is to get all the coins which will unlock the gate allowing you to reach the light bulb. But theres a twist! There are little different coloured orbs that you may or may not want to collect. Each one transforms you into a different coloured character with a different power up. Sometimes you will want to get the orb and sometimes you won't. It's all a matter of strategy. I encourage you to check out the original topic at GMG: http://www.gamemakergames.com/forum/index.php?topic=8409.0 Download: http://willhostforfood.com/?Action=download&fileid=21662 Now, I am remaking this game. It's going to be basically the same game but with: - Drastically Improved Graphics - An Intense Story - More Intelligent Level Design - New Name: Plactoid - NO Bugs And, yes the game will still have just as steep of a difficulty curve as before. Production on the game has gone quite slow, but it shouldn't take that much longer to complete it because all I have to do now is create the rest of the levels. Here's a screen shot:

I Feel Old...
August 16, 2007

I just came back from Montreal. I went white-water rafting on some big jet boat, or something. Pure awesome. LINK I also did a bunch of other stuff there too, but the jet boat was the best. I also crossed the Ontario border to visit my cousins. They had a trampoline, and I decided to try it out. I was doing a bunch of back-flips and front flips. Then I decided to do a back-flip and a front-flip right after one another. I succeeded, then my dad wanted to video-tape it, so he told me to do it again. By this point I was exhausted from all this jumping and flipping about, but I decided to do it anyway (because I'm so smart). So I bounced and I bounced as high as I could and went to do a back-flip... but I screwed up and landed on the back of my neck. It knocked the wind out of me, and my back still hurts quite badly. At least I have a video of it though! :D Now whenever I try to chase those meddling children off my lawn, I can't because it hurts my back. I just have to stand there and wave my fist at them like an angry old man. I haven't blogged in such a long time.

Judgeship at GMClans
January 28, 2007

A few weeks ago, I was promoted to a judge at GMClans. I was really excited at first and I tried to judge as much as I could. Although, over the past two weeks I haven't judged a single thing because I was too busy. I probably did have time to judge at least a few things at some point, but I didn't. That is why I currently feel as though I am failing as a judge. I've become the judge that I always hated. I've become one of those kinds of judges which let battles go unjudged for weeks. The worst part of it is that I just started as a judge. There were two other members who were promoted to judges the same time as I and they have judged way more. This week however, I have all the time in the world to judge, so I'm going to try and judge as much as possible. I have decided to discontinue working on my project Mr Soap on my own, and start working on it with my clan: Water Blossom (at GMClans). I doubt I was ever going to finish it on my own. It has a better chance getting finished with my clan, and it should be reasonably better. I'll post a demo and some screenshots when I can. I haven't made a blog in a long time.

Tornado
August 08, 2006

I bet the title caught your eye, didn't it? And yes, this story is about a tornado. I was going to post this earlier except the site was having problems. Well, this is how it went; my friends invited me over to their cottage for a few days. We got got there on Friday, August 4 (we went in a Mustang) and we got there late so there wasn't much to do except sit around and watch Hot Shots on TV. The next day, I was all excited that I would get to go tubing or wake boarding but there was a thunderstorm most of the day. It wasn't bad though, I still had lots of fun. In the afternoon (4:15), everyone had to go to church but there wasn't enough room for me (the grandparents were there). I just stayed back and watched Simpsons while they were gone. You are probably wondering why they went to church on Saturday; don't ask me because I don't know why either. Anyways, I was watching Simpsons and then another Simpsons, and another, and after the fourth Simpsons ended, all the power went out. I was lucky that it was only 6:00 so it wasn't dark. I wasn't surprised that the power went out, there was a thunder storm all day. I thought the power would return soon enough. While I was waiting for my friends to return, I sat by the window and ate peanuts for 15 minutes. They returned at 6:15 and I told them that the power went out at 6:00. They told me that they saw a funnel cloud, fairly close on the way back to the cottage. An hour had passed before we decided to phone the Hydro company and ask them about the power outage. They said that there may have been a tornado. My friends had relatives that were staying in a trailer, not too far away. We decided to go see if there actually was a tornado. We all got in to the van and sure enough, there was a tornado that ripped through trees near the highway. The tornado must have been fairly wide too. You could see the path of uprooted and broken trees. We saw the cause of the power outage; many tees had fallen on to the power lines. Here is the interesting part; we believe that when they came back from church, that they were basically running away from and barely missing the tornado. At 6:00, the tornado hit a couple of trees on to the power lines. My friends were still coming home when the tornado hit. If they stayed an extra 10 minutes or so at church then they could have been caught in the tornado. Well, 5 minutes going down the highway, we see the damage of the tornado. That is how close it came to the cottage. We kept driving until we got to the trailer park where my friends' relatives were supposed to be. Luckily they didn't come for an unknown reason. The tornado went right through the trailer park. Everything got trashed at the trailer park. The police were there and they didn't allow us to go check out all of the damage. Apparently there were people missing on the water at the time and one person died. We then found out that the power would be out for at least two days. On Sunday, we decided to go home.
