#4 Posted by Scott_AW on January 17, 2010 at 01:40 amAww @%&^!———————————————————————————I said I was gonna post this extremely old and super shortInterview didn't I?This was made after he released A Day In the like of Bob. full version. 1. When did you first start development on "Bob" and why?I first started working on "A Day in the Life of Bob" when I was 14 (in 2004). My main inspiration was the Flash game, Stick RPG. I had to restart a number of times as I became more familiar with the program, but I was eventually able to release it in 2006. Although I was proud of the game at the time, a lot of my ideas were unrealized because of my inexperience with Game Maker, so I almost immediately began working on a sequel. This proved difficult, as I had high standards for myself- it took over three years and a great number of restarts to finally finish "Another Day in the Life of Bob."2. What influences the melodies in your music?I don't usually consciously think about anything when I write music. I believe that whatever I'm feeling at the time will naturally be expressed when I start playing. So I guess the biggest influence is my emotions.3. What are your plans for the winter?(A time when most programmers stress.)By winter I'll probably be enjoying my first semester of college, studying sound engineering. I probably won't be stressing about programming at all!4. What games are you currently playing(if any )I don't actually play any video games. I've never owned a console or Game Boy or anything. When I was younger I used to enjoy Roller Coaster Tycoon, Sim City, and Age of Empires, but not much beyond that.5. Can you give me your take on the so called rumor of GMC dying? The forum is only dead when there is no one left to be concerned about it, so the people who spread these rumors are the best evidence that the forum is (quite) alive.6. Why are you made of Polystyrene? My name comes from the Radiohead song, "Fake Plastic Trees." The lyrics of the song mention a "Cracked polystyrene man who just crumbles and burns." I didn't realize it at the time, but 'polystyrene' is the British equivalent to the American 'Styrofoam.'7.What additions to Game Maker should be made in your opinion?I don't really know enough about game making to suggest anything- Game Maker is the only such program I've ever used and GML is the only programming language I know, so I'm not sure what else is offered by other languages. I guess it would be nice if the games could be made to load and run faster. In any case, it definitely suits my needs.8. What projects will you work on next?I currently have no plans to continue making games. It has lost its appeal and I'm finding myself more interested in music and art. I think it would be cool to make an interactive musical experience where the player can control sounds based on his movement about an environment, but it's only a vague idea right now. I'm lost on how I would make it work. And then I got egged because he made Vim shortly after.Hi-effin-larious.——————————————Juurian comics!this one fails.I like these.Poly's dirty laundry revealed!(and new juurian pages.)
