I was just talking to my friend about how much I hated college and how much of a disappointment it was, and then everything just started to get so much better.
I got the job at the only Vans shop in Ohio. So, if you want to creeper stake me out, you know where to find me now.I got some money coming in from some paperwork my Dad filed that should keep me going fine for the duration of college as long as I keep my grades above craplevel and I work.IM WORKING IN THE ONLY VANS SHOP IN OHIO.I'm getting a little bit of support for OHJAM, the indie game jam I'm going to start here in Toledo. I still need concrete details (location, duration, etc.) but at least I'm thinking and I know others are interested.I FINALLY HAVE A JOBI think I have an idea of someone to contact to find a place to host it, but it's not a definite… really he'd just be a middleman, but at least it's a start.Sort blog is short, but happy blog is happy.Edit:Also, check out my stuff on soundcloud here! Leave comments please. I know I'm not good, but comments and criticism will help me get better.
Congrats on the job! :D
Yeah, blogs are short when you aren't complaining on the internet. Thanks ferret! :D
like ferret said, nothing wrong with short blogs :P
why are you disappointed with college?Nothing wrong with a short Blog.
(But one word Blogs seem to be trending….)I'm disappointed because college has the same function as highschool. Essentially a holding cell for people deemed not ready to join the workforce, which is understandable, but I wish they would teach us at a faster pace and not just stuff we learned in highschool. It IS only the first semester, so I'm hoping it will get better, but this was really lame. I thought college was going to be this great place of learning, and intelligence, and creativity. It's really just a bunch of middle/upper middle class kids wearing "The North Face" and a couple of decent people sprinkled throughout. I mean, they aren't bad people, but they are a bunch of followers who don't have any sense of self. I've only met a few good, earnest, independent people.
Hmmm community college or university? Makes all the difference. Plus it depends on what college and if you let yourself get involved or meet new people.
I havent partied at all yet, but trust me, i will sometime. I met some new people here as well that are fun to hang out with.I go to a medium/large university. It's pretty much the best example of a college and collegetown you can find.
I am a student, but not one in the sense that our modern societies desire me to be. I enjoy learning, not being a lemming. I want to do something of purpose, not fit in.Oh well. I'll figure it out. I have some ideas, some plans, some capital coming my way, and hopefully some openings in the near future. I will not settle.Chem ruins my buzz.
@Acid, it is only because it is the first semester, trust me. I'm going to a community college currently and I have learned so much over here. For me I didn't realize that highschool was just a daycare for large kids until community college where I relearned everything useful from highschool within a week. Right now I'm taking some awesome calculus courses and finally getting CS stuff too and it's a great deal of learning (though the CS stuff so far has been a bit of a repeat for me).
Yeah, I'm hoping ferret, but it doesn't look like it.
