As of recent, I've been making some major progress with my shadow engine, which is now a little faster due to me fixing some stupidity on my part (<I>to be exact i thought the instance activate region worked like draw rectangle, like you specify the corners instead of specifying the startx/y and width/height….pfff</I>) and i've also incorporated some bitwise operators to give it that extra speed and coolness.
But most notably i've totally changed the casting order and done some other modifications….. which has allowed me to incorporate my first <B>'next version'</B> promise…..<B>'True Lighting'</B> (<I>i really dont know why i called it that, but it sounds cool and implies every one elses lighting aint true….muhaha</I>). Now all i need to do is 'soft shadows' (which i've got some good ideas on how to achieve) and version 2 here i come…..WOOT!. If anybody sucks up to me enough i might even release 1.5 version (with true lighting but not soft shadows), since i reckon soft shadows might take me awhile.Heres some cool pics of <B>'True Lighting'</B>….<a href="http://img72.imageshack.us/my.php?image=pheonixls34ec.png" target="_blank"><img src="http://img72.imageshack.us/img72/3803/pheonixls34ec.th.png" border="0" alt="" ></a><a href="http://img83.imageshack.us/my.php?image=pheonixls42di.png" target="_blank"><img src="http://img83.imageshack.us/img83/7941/pheonixls42di.th.png" border="0" alt="" /></a><a href="http://img83.imageshack.us/my.php?image=pheonixls54ii.png" target="_blank"><img src="http://img83.imageshack.us/img83/8569/pheonixls54ii.th.png" border="0" alt="" /></a><B>93</B> hits come on <B>100</B>….

But this sounds interesting, I'd like to see the next version.Edit:Whoa, this looks nice. You can set shadow transparency right?Yeah, like their alpha values, so you can see through them. Shadows are only that dark on the moon. =D
(this was deleted accidently should be between melee-masters posts)
Woops didnt know about the editting, ummm shadow transparency? Changing the ambient colour will change the color of the shadows…if thats what you mean.yea thats partially the .pngs fault….the tranparency of the shadows will change depending on the ambient colour like Luminare.
When its:- black:shadows are completely black- dkgray: shadows are slightly transparent- gray: shadows are fairly transparent- etc, etc…Looks awesome. XD
