Hey there again! Primes anti-furry cannon
Yesterday, since I was sitting at home doing absolutely nothing, I was browsing the internet for general randomness. I ended up on Reddit multiple timesWhilst on my travels in the series of tubes, I found a few TDS games that were quite fun to play. Anyway, I played those for a while and eventually grew tired of the constant killing of enemies.Suddenly, a wild house mate arrives!!We got talking about the impending zombie apocalypse and how we will survive. This is a normal conversationSo then I got the idea of making a zombie apocalypse TDS! I know the internet is swarmed with them but hear me outI got to work on a simple TDS movement system controlled by WASD and the mouse, aded firing and really dumb zombies.I'm going to be working on multiple AI controls, documentation of which can be found here. So, if you have any ideas that you'd wish to contribute or you'd like to help out, let me know! Peace guys!

Also but of course! Zombie apocalypse conversations with roommates/flatmates are a write popular pasttime. My friend Mike and I have come up with no less than four separate, complete plans for zombie survival, depending on our projected locations at the time of outbreak. Each plan we hashed out very thoroughly, up to and in fact inspecting various building to ascertain their zombie stronghold viability!Good times! We are always at the same location, or rather, we would make sure we got to this location as we have a brilliant plan!
Put simply, tall mountain overlooking town, and, 1,000,000 bouncy balls with cameras set up all over the town. Unleash the bouncy balls then when the havoc is over, watch the videos! 0_0Who doesn't have conversations about zombies?
Also, zombie tds games have been done so many times, I just don't think I would have any ideas for it that would make it unique. The one thing I would suggest though is make the game have other things besides just killing zombies: build barriers, get uninfected people to fight with you, manage what guns they have, add rpg elements, idk. There are too many zombie games that are one dimensional and only focus on killing the zombies.Indeed. CPS is working on a zombie tds. So it would be repetitive to see another.
However, change the zombies to a furry swarm, and you shoot nets to stop them, now we're talkin.See I was thinking about making it story based, so for instance, you "think" you're the last survivor, find maps, follow them, find more people, clues, clues, clues, big zombie baddie at the end. So yea, it's mainly just killing zombies, but because there's going to be a story, it's not going to be a hectic zombie shooter.
Hopefully I can get sprites and things for it…oh i gotcha. If it has a unique story to it, then yeah it could work.
I thought this idea was sort of Bleh until I saw your last post. Making something different and unique is key nowadays to getting people to play your game. Hey, look at Minecraft.
There are so many platform games coming out these days that, for better or for worse, I can't even be bothered to download them and try them out. DSG's 'Depths' is the exception because it looks so awesome. Also, if your going to make is TDS, make sure the controls feel REALLY comfortable and fluid, I get annoyed with the control set-up and how you have to rotate and move your character in a lot of TDS games.Good luck with the idea, sounds cool.Try not to focus so much on the killing of zombies, but do something unique or difficult, like, trap the zombies instead, using creative methods, or make it a stealth zombie game (avoid being spotted by the hordes, blend in)!
@SMP Yea I was thinking something along the lines of that. I've looked into simple AI, and I think I have a really good idea.
Basically, you CAN kill the zombies, but they don't go too fast, so you can run around doing everything else, but they will "smell" you and track you down. There will also be limited ammo, I mean c'mon, it is the zombocolypse!
