If user is online, there should be "User online" indication on userpage and otherwise "Last visited on:".

How bout video previews? Maybe a 5 seconds max showing off the game/example.

na the video previews`should be your choice by adding a link to youtube (besides most people like me don't know how to make videos of their games)

I think you should be able to use .swf as a background.
