If game companies called their development sections "Research and Development" departments, i'd be on the Research end. I've been thinking about Black & White 2 and the idea of actually controlling god, and i thought, what if it were more realistic? I don't think god has ever picked up a person and placed them in a mine to designate them as a Mineworker and Disciple, or picked up a tree and used it to build a house. What if you had power and influence depending on the faith of the people, so if an area totally doesn't believe in you you have no influence over them but in an area of great faith you have a great deal of control over people. What if you could create pophets who you could control as much as any video game character who can preach, heal people, direct your followers and so forth but could only born if there is no other living prophet and could only be born in an area of high faith?
That would be cool. That game i want. Or to make.In other news, starting tomorrow i have to get up at 5:30 for school, which kinda really sucks.I also think there should be an effort put out to expose completed game maker games not only to the game maker communities, but to people who don't have game maker and/or have little to no interest in creating games, but just playing them. Who knows how many people would want to play HT3D and would want to spam us with profanity in Linked but just don't know about them?
You might be interested in an old Shiny Entertainment (they made Earthworm Jim) game, Messiah. You control an angel named bob, who can posses people in order to do what he needs to do. I never played it myself, but I thought the conept was interesting, and kinda like the whole Black & White thing.
