So, after enough harassment from the friendly RC, I have decided to put my laziness aside and finally post my introductory blog. Thus I'll begin this with boring stuff:
For about a month I've been frequenting in the 64 digits IRC chat, so some of you may have an idea of who I am. I am an erratic game developer with few games (none good in my opinion) under my belt. I am a user Game Maker and am familiar with GML. I have been developing games in GM for about six years, only two of those in GML and seriously. Recently, I have begun using FlashPunk and learning AS3 while also slowly learning C++. In addition to game developing languages, I know some HTML/CSS, but I haven't done anything concerning websites in a very long time.Currently, I am working on a game for the GameJolt Jam. It's nothing much other than a bullet-hell boss shmup with glowy graphics.http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/3621/screenshot101l.pngSome evidence that I'm not a tutorial editing noob.Anyway, that's all. Will most likely blog more later on this great site. :3
Hmm, needs a few more bullets to be bullet hell. Also, the drop-shadow-effect on the HUD is a bit extreme. Might want to push the two colors closer together. Other than that, looks great.
EDIT: THIS is bullet hell:The motivational poster speaks the truth. That's not a drop-shadow, it's an effect that occurs when you're hit. The game also starts easyish and gets much more bullet-hell after some point, and that's only the first boss. :P
Another Yoshi to add. Hopefully this one won't disappear inexplicably. Yoshis are to 64D what drummers are to Spinal Tap.
Food?
If it's an effect, then that's cool. Good idea. Now, is this the type of shoot-em-up with health or one shot = death? Yes, both of them do exist.
The bar-thing in the bottom left corner is your health.10 hits before you're killed.
Welcome to 64d. I never visit the irc =p
your game has more appealing graphics than most bullet hells, at least to me.
Hi
