Yay, finally some news on Slime Online ^-^I got the inventory to work again…well…I re-coded the whole inventory because my previous inventory coding sucked x)This one works now.People can now buy Outfits and accessorys and equip them in the inventory-menuIn the final beta I'll limit the changing to special "Dressing Rooms"This will enable much more quests…just wait for it :PAnyway, hope you like this new video…I am off to work on some maps now ^-^Cya later ^^OOPS, here is the video xDhttp://video.google.de/videoplay?docid=6719384279295974246
why would it be a design flaw?
Its a gameplay element, thats what I say.I made this game with the background-idea that you play as a stupid, yet happy, little slime.Your communication is limited to Emoticons and special chat-rooms.I dont really get your point. What is the problem that you cant freely speak to other people? It ould be very easy to add this, but I WILL NOT ADD IT! Please explain why you think that this is a deisgn flaw….I've played a grand total of 1 online game where you can't easily communicate with other people in the last 4 years. That game is yours.
The character may be stupid, yet happy, but the players aren't stupid or happy. Well, maybe happy. Also, gameplay elements are usually fun. I don't find not being able to chat to be particularly fun, to be quite honest. Limited comunication might be different, but it's not fun. It's like adding random pop-quizzes to your game. It's your game, do what you want with it, but it just seems… silly.(Oh, and frankly, I think your game needs all the player-to-player interaction it can get.)My game will get much more interaction between players.
But, ok, Slime Online might be the first game that wont allow you to chat freely….but it is still easy to communicate. You might not be able to speak about your last cyber-sex session with a busty blonde, you might not be able to tell the others that PS3 sux..you cant even tell them that you OWN em cause your headgear is cooler..but..WHO CARES!?I think you more see the problem in the fact that you cant speak about upcoming quest problems or such…but this can still be done with emoticons. The game concentrates more on gameplay then on useless chatting. And if you want to chat, you go to one of the chat-rooms that are on the Slime Island. This system got a overall positive feedback…if you dont like it, thats ok..but I still wont change it.I agree that not being able to chat everywhere is a part of the gameplay. Who needs to chat everywhere anyways? Gameplay is that this game is all about!
well, "A"…for now there isnt really much gameplay yet ;)
but, yes, this will be about gameplay ^-^I think there is a fair amount of gameplay already. And it can only get better!
But you feel isolated because you think you SHOULD be able to chat…what makes you think you should be able to chat?
Because other games give you this option? Most games today make me feel isolated because OTHER games give me more options.I play a RPG that gives me a option to steal from enemys…to explore the surroundings…I can use alchemy..and then I can combine items and such…Then I play another RPG which doesnt give me any of these features…I feel limited and isolated then…You propably played many online games that let you talk non-stop..I like the option to chat all the time..it gives you a more "free" feeling….but I still think it's out of place in slime online and that the way it IS limited is a good way.It makes you feel more excited when entering a chat room and chat there.Well, I understand your point…but I also understand the point of all the people I have on the SLime Online board….we have about two people there that want "everywhere-chat" option…but all other people like the game as it is and also see this limitation as a gameplay-element….therefor…it will stay as it is ^^Sure, make me think that this is actually the download.
??? I dont really get what u just wrote <.< ???
