Hey guys,
Game Jolt have released their long-time-in-beta Game Achievements API and libraries today. It works on most platforms (and I personally wrote a library for Game Maker) as well as with most languages (C++, Java, AS3). If your platform is not in the list on their landing page though, their community is really nice and they can probably help you out with making one - just ask on the forums. The system is stable, secure and scalable; Dunno if you've played/heard of Kayin's sequel to I Wanna Be The Guy, but it was released recently using their system and it works very well.It supports high scores for both users and guests, trophies, and even data storage (which is only limited by your imagination!). You should definitely check it out. Landing page: http://gamejolt.com/developers/achievements/Forums: http://gamejolt.com/community/forums/
This is really cool. I just hope we see enough games of depth that actually warrant having achievements. :P
Congrats on being the guy to add Gamemaker to the list.
But it's only for gamejolt? How about an achievement for every key used in the game?
Whoa. It's out?
Awesome.Continual achievements for every previous achievement!
"Achievement unlocked" should officially be renamed to "SUCH AN ACHIEVEMENT!" on all platforms.
Sarcasm aside, I'm quite interested in how this works out.Yeah all of that can be done you guys. Also highscores and online data storage for global or specific users. And yeah achievements and data storage only work for Game Jolt users, but highscores can be earned by guests.
And I fixed the text problem. It was bugging me for a while actually, didn't know it was b/c the site didn't support some fonts :/Time for some punny achievement titles!
