Ok, now say you make a game off of a television show, or a movie, or something to that nature… What is more important, pleasing the hardcore, freak Nazi type of fans of that show, or making great game play? Assuming that is, that you are stuck in a situation where you must choose between the two.
Because if you're one of those people who are about to tell me how great you are, and how you can do both perfect, then your input doesn’t matter:DThe same goes if you are about to say not to make games off of that type of material, because its a one or the other type question, with the sole purpose of not getting any answer besides the two available
Wow, that's hard to choose….I don't think I can.
I say focus on the gameplay, and then simply say that the story was based loosely off of the show. If the gameplay was good, I suppose I could forgive the game for being a crappy version of the show, so long as the game declares that it's only loosely based off it.gameplay is always first… it comes before graphics, before story, before audio, and most importantly before the first release. Most people forget all about that with GM.
Story is great, and I really don't buy games that don't follow a good story, but I won't even play a game with poor gameplay. Anyone who sticks with a game with horrible gameplay just because of the story is a fool.I don't bother with storylines in games, so I'm gonna go with… Gameplay.
Thanks, I didn't expect any positive response! Yeah, I was leaning towards gameplay also, the only game i've played for the story and graphics was Shenmue, and I'm pretty sure that was the only game ever worth it. Thanks for your help.
*pretends to whisper:* Why thanks!
