Some New Music / Video Game inspired stuff

Posted by BuniSuitClassix on June 20, 2011, 6:34 p.m.

Hey there, since I've been AFK for years, I thought I'd throw up some of the music I've been working on. Recently I've been working on music like the following track:

http://angellust.bandcamp.com/track/captain-at-the-wheel

The intro on it is a little long, but it's still a work in progress, and there's a lot I plan on adding to it.

The next track I uploaded is kind of my video-game inspired style that I've been in and out of over the years. I think this is probably the most recent track that sounds like what I am trying to explain that I am also somewhat proud of [or better said, not ashamed of]

I also have been working on some hip-hop beats since the style always had a minor influence on my drum work in a lot of my songs.

I uploaded those three tracks to here, and also there is another two I uploaded to this so I could give you guys a good 5 or so tracks that I really like. I also figured I'd upload them all so if someone was interested, they could just tab it and have it play through like a playlist.

Here is probably my most important musical feat I have accomplished to date: A cover of "I am so sad. so very very sad" by "Crash and the Boys":

And here is my most recent EP I finished:

Hope you can stomach most of it, and like atleast one track.

Give me some honest constructive criticism where applicable please~

Each song was individually tested by kitten. If my cat would leave the room while the song was playing - I would NOT put it on the CD.
isn't that biased towards short songs? :P

it is! but all my songs are usually short so it basically eliminated a few songs with really sudden loud noises haha

your album is a lot better than most that get posted here, the third and fifth track are catchy enough to be up there with Aphex Twin singles. you should consider setting visuals to them!

the video game type stuff is really good too, i've never been able to recreate that sound lol.

Likin' the Rings of Saturn song.

Haven't gotten to listening to the Sun Dog album because I keep hitting repeat on it ._.

I like got a hand in it. It sounds like it could be used in a lot of places for games :)

Your music sounds……interesting. It's just not my cup of tea :D

Got a Hand in it and Revealing My Hand sounded decent, though :D

What do you use to make music? At moments it sounded like you use Reason (like me), but most of the time it didn't :P

ahaha, thanks all for the kind words, especially being compared to Aphex Twin <3

Rings of Saturn and Got a Hand in it are kind of my personal favorites of the stuff I made. I didn't expect any kind of positive response to Sun Dog, since each song was really me trying to teach myself a different style of Dance music.

I want to start using Reason, a lot of people I talk to use it and have nothing but great things to say about it, but for the moment I use FLStudio with a really crappy midi keyboard.

Alert, feel free to use it for whatever if you want to, I don't mind. Since it's relatively new, I can still chop it up or re-organize / loop it if need be.
