Well, since I couldn't make the contest deadline, I'm deciding to continue the game regardless. It won't be long, so it shouldn't interrupt 64Brawl's release too much, if people are still excited about it, even.

Well, let's discuss what I have so far.

-Working day/night engine

-Working health/meter engine

-Completed world design

-Halfway completed models

-Changing emotions

-A single means of escape

-The post-game (easter egg, if you will)

So, I'm deciding to make this an actual game, especially since I was about 90% done by the contest deadline. <_<

Model Updates

In older Lixies games, the little guys have tiny arms, which are useless for everything but balance. Due to the already difficult process of modeling and animating a lixie, I've removed those arms. Feet should be enough for balance.

Originally, the lixie could move in 8 directions, and would face them accordingly. Although he still moves in all 8 directions, he either faces up, down, left, or right, due to translation issues.

Camera

The camera is a stationary half-iso view. Occasionally, especially in the lab area, the view will be obscured by walls, in which case they will be invisible while the view of the lixie is obstructed.

Getting Around

There are five ground levels, and you can only climb them if they are one level above or below your own. This helps you achieve certain heights and get around.

Survival Tips

Trees grow around the island, and drop fruit occasionally. By eating that, if could restore up to 10 hunger.

Energy can be restored by remaining stationary, unless your hunger is zero (and lixies are very hungry creatures).

HP cannot be restored, as depicted when it was a contest entry. That may be changed later, but for now, it can decrease when in contact with an enemy or when energy is zero.

Bugs

-When moving up and right diagonally, the translation animations will be wrong.

-Sometimes specific blocks of ground will be impassable.
