That little lixies genetics kit idea I had before is a bit too hard to work with as far as saving and loading genetics files goes. So, if you want to develop this early, you can simply edit the GEN files in notepad or something.

Instead, I've been working on CFL itself. Besides adding all of the chemicals to the game, I'm also working a lot on the world design, which is hard to make pretty, by the way. Let's discuss a few hints about the world and chemicals, then.

Each lixie has a series of chemical receptors. These are used to sense chemicals in the air after they are emitted by various objects or creatures. Here are some examples.

Firstly, dangerous animals emit the "Bad Animal" chemical. This is used for lixies to sense enemies or for enemies to sense allies.

Warm/cold areas emit hotness/coldness chemicals which affect the lixies' bodies (I know, hot and cold aren't chemicals, but are in this case).

When ready to mate, lixies emit a special chemical which is combined with "Opposite Sex Pheromone" to create another chemical telling other lixies they are ready to mate.
