Terminys

Life blogs.

Seriously, we all want to talk about meaningless FICTIONAL stuff. But I'm going to go ahead and do one of my own, just to contradict myself because I love it so. No photos to accompany it though.

So. I'm currently enrolled in university, starting to work toward my desired major, bla bla bla…. Here are my classes.

Anthropology 1040 (aced a senior level anthro class so this is easy as hell)

Art 1010 (bores me)

Computer Science 1030 (basic intro class, might be required)

Computer Science 1010 (Intro to Interactive Entertainment. In other words, INTRO TO GAME DESIGN)

In other words, 13 credit hours.

Over the summer I'm going to be headed to Wyoming to do a little internship with my uncle. We're going to be doing fun stuff with the state university's servers. I was told there may or may not be money involved, but if there was, bonus, right?

Bla bla bla…more boring stuff.

And now I'm finally coming out of the closet…to announce my game. That's right, my game is gay. And when you see the graphics, you'll agree.

Stupid JPEGs ruin the quality.

The game is designed to look like the Mother series, including graphical style (which I did myself with the exception of the trees), the naming, and the dialog engine.

In it, you'll find references to various games and shows, along with easter eggs and such.

The genre is a modern RPG (screw fantasy, right?). You might notice a "magic meter" in the third screenshot, but in actuality, this is a lie. It doesn't work like fantasy RPGs, and instead works as a limited, exhaustible force that resembles real-world culture forces.

This will be named Ether. Phenomenally, the protectors are called Ethereals, and its opposite force, which you see being exercised in the third screenshot, is Nether.

When both collide, it is said that immediate destruction will follow.

Your character is young at the start, but grows up after the fight, as five years pass. He and his sister learned Ether while his brother learned Nether and killed…yeah, not that far.

In the future, the character must avoid being caught, as anyone who possesses these powers has a bounty over their heads.

Screenshot 1: The GIMP version of the title.

Screenshot 2: The character naming screen.

Screenshot 3: First boss battle (OSHI– SPOILERS?). This fight has some kickass (biased because I composed it) music. The stretchiness of the boss is his teleport, but it looks much better in-game. My screenshot timing was just bad, because he teleported right after Nether Wave.

Bosses cast and your party members help you in battle, attacking, supporting, or fleeing whenever they feel it's necessary.

No further details, just because I was bored.

Precisely, young sir. Mother 3 was a handheld game. This is roughly similar.
