Now I Guess I'm a Sadistic Freak

But we'll get to that later. There are some spoilers in this blog I guess. But I doubt you'll care too much as you probably haven't heard of it.

So, here's a perfectly normal non-game oriented blog. First off, I'm going back to school in the fall, and this time I'm getting a student job as a lab aide. It's not the ideal job, but it's good experience and I think it'll be a lot of fun.

Unlike my last job.

Then I have to take care of financial aid and such. Nasty stuff.

So anyway, on to the title. My brother's girlfriend shows him a wide variety of things. Her family is supposedly super Mormon, but they watch whatever and do whatever. They're pretty laid back, and it's surprising to see that around here actually.

So he comes home yesterday and he's like "I HAVE TO SHOW YOU THIS." Then he proceeds to YouTube where he shows me three very disturbing videos in anime format.

The show's called "When they Cry" or something like that. Full title: "Where the Cicadas Cry." As I said, it's an anime, but oh my God, it's dubbed as if it were released in America, and it's really weird.

Not only is it graphic (the first scene of the first episode is some guy beating some people to death with a baseball bat), it's confusingly so, and has a pretty interesting plot. And apparently every four episodes, it all resets as if nothing happened. It's like watching several movies with the same characters.

And the funny thing is, many of the characters die. Several times.

The other funny thing is, while this show is sick, twisted, bizarre, and sadistic, I think I actually like it. What does that make me?

Well, not for the blood, but for the plot. What leads up to the guy slitting his throat with his own fingernails and the girl stabbing herself in the head and the corpses in garbage bags.

Twisted.

Crazy.

Sadistic.

*shudder*

As long as you don't end up like Marquis de Sade, I think you'll be alright.

The second season is even better and at the end of the series, everything makes perfect sense sorta. Anyway, I like Higurashi a lot, please watch all of it :)

End of the series or end of each "volume"? Because I'm still confused as to what the hell happened and why. All I know is it shows how the graphic scene at the beginning happened.

My friend's girlfriend showed me that as well. =D

A controversial writer remembered for centuries? Yeah, you better watch yourself, Kilin! :P

Anime violence isn't that gory, due to the lack of animation (some of the ideas the writers come up with make up for it though). So the most genuinely disturbing thing I managed to find were the swan swimming trunks.

Thanks a lot, Kilin.

Oh wait that was a different anime I guess.

The girl stabbing herself in the head should've given me nightmares or something. And it's supposed to be one of the more innocent, "cute" characters in the show.

Haha touché, Cesque.

So you're telling me that in order to be famous, all I have to do is be controversial? It can't get any easier, can it?

Just watch the whole 2 seasons. The second season actually explains everything. Quite cool.
