Just a play on my previous title.
So to people who're familiar with my last blog, here's a finisher, and to those who aren't, all the cake is gone. You don't even care, do you?Anyhow, ended up finishing the first season of When They Cry, or Higurachi as I've heard. Spelling might not be right. But that little rant where I said I didn't get any damn thing the show did, well this is a resolution. THANK GOD I finally understand everything. This show was killing me man. It was the most confusion I've ever taken from a single story but I was still too inclined to watch it. Somehow everything unraveled but what isn't revealed isn't important.I really like how well they put the characters together. We got to see a few different sides to everyone, I think. And the mystery element was fun, but a bit too confusing. In the end (if my brother hadn't spoiled it, the reaction would've been bigger), I was like "OHHHH."Clever show. My regards to everyone who told me to see it through. And now I'll recommend it to anyone else who doesn't mind a little blood (or a lot).So I no longer think it's a sick, bizarre, sadistic show. Okay, just a bit bizarre, but it wasn't all about violence. It had something for everyone albeit too short in most cases. Still kept me wondering but it was good all the same.So there's my spoiler-free not-review of When They Cry. This is where spoiler tags might be useful, Juju, for when you have something in common that you want to discuss. Because yes, I'd like to discuss it.Maybe.<_<
There was cake?
Yay. I told you so :D
Watched a bit of the next season, but they don't have it dubbed yet. I missed the old familiar English-speaking voices. It's how I could tell everyone apart. And now it's like I need to learn the characters all over again.
Pitty. You shouldn't watch dubbed anime to begin with, very often they sound worse, imo.
I don't mind subbed at all. I watch most of mine (the few that I have seen) subbed, but things like Death Note, I prefer dubbed, just because it's there, and it's easier to understand. Plus Death Note sounded great dubbed.
Especially with my less-than-perfect vision. =(I also like Japanese voice acting a lot.I think your "very often" mostly refers to the bigger titles. I don't know of any small animes whose voice acting was that good. Saw an episode of Elfen Lied (sp?). Voice acting sucked. I'd prefer subs over that anyday.
Though I'm not sure if that's a big anime or not. Probably not.Big or not, I liked it. In fact, these are my favorites:
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/MyAnime/?user=Reality-M&categ=10&sort=ratingGot any suggestions, Kilin? :DSo you were the one who watched Clannad. Surprisingly good show, as mellow as it might be regarding action. Looks like you've got a great list there. Can't really suggest anything as I haven't watched a whole lot of shows, and I usually watch things that people suggest to me.
I've heard that Last Exile was a good one. But other than that, I think I'm the one that could use suggestions. I hate television and watch movies very rarely, so animes are kind of fun to me.The cake is a lie.
