The Reason Why Fire is Evil

Ever since the server went up, I've felt more inclined to play Minecraft, and be a little more creative.

Well today I decided to do a little work on my cottage (first time actually trying to make something look nice instead of having the inside be cool). And next to bookcases, the last touch was to add a nice little fireplace. So I did.

Note to self: fire inside a wood-and-wool house is STILL a bad idea.

After making the fireplace, I went downstairs to do a little move work. Suddenly, my computer's framerate dropped drastically (at work I play on my craptop). I was trying to figure out what was going on until my random mouse movements caused me to turn around.

Yeah, my house was on fire. Someone said fire was modded to not burn anything important. So basically, the fire never put itself out.

With the help of Kabob, Eggnog (?), and LoserHands (and blackhole laughing at us), and after probably fifteen or twenty minutes of me struggling to move while the rest put out the fire, it was finally finished.

I wish I had thought to take pictures of the spectacular show, but here is the result:

All my trees were mercilessly stripped of their leaves. So as of right now, I'm in the process of chopping down the naked branches and replanting, as well as getting all the water, dirt, and sand out of my house.

Rest assured, it wasn't in the city.

I should also add that after an experiment with putting glass in front of the fire, the house burst into flame once more. Fortunately I had a literal mountain of water at my disposal, so, bucketless, I set out to put it out.

And I'm still doing it.

I actually took one or two pics of when it was on fire.

If I played Minecraft, I'd assure you I'd be the one setting everything on fire for kicks.

Sucks for your house though man. Did you get all your belongings out? Hope the computer is ok.

I once had a beautiful forest clearing. It took me a long long time to grow the trees and make it look the way I wanted it to look.

Then fire happened and everything was burned to a crisp. Never making a forest home again.

Yeah cheesemod now prevents anything but leaves from burning away, but this doesn't stop fire from spreading and being on other materials like normal =p This also means you can have have flaming tnt sitting around.

Yeah, on the note of leaves, I'm going to need another stack or two of saplings, because I lost everything in the second fire. =(
