OBLIGATORY RPG BLOG.
Before I say anything, I'm going for an Earthbound/Mother 3 graphical style. The characters are done kind of my own way, but scenery is kind of in the "detailed simplicity" area. This means I'll have a shitton of tiles, but I'm not going for ground clutter like I usually do.These screenshots don't really do it enough justice.Eh. Particles look better in motion. So does the dialogue engine. I'm wondering whether to get rid of the simplicity in the dialogue box itself, but such is the Mother 3 style.I was going to do a video, but Fraps is failing on me right now, and CamStudio's quality is just horrid. For those who use Fraps, it records EVERYTHING ELSE perfectly fine, but when it comes to Game Maker games, it records what's in the 640x480 window, and adds blank space to fill the size of my monitor, which is 1920x1280 or something cool like that. If you know how to fix this problem, let me know, because there are some things screens simply cannot capture.Why so little progress, Kilin?All my progress is on the music. Maybe I'll show that later.Nah, not really.Oh, and I've got co-op multiplayer going. Think Dark Souls here. If you were having trouble on a stage or boss, you could summon another player to help you out. Still debating on how to do this correctly, but we'll see.Upon rethinking, I guess I'll have a special dungeon that you can summon a few people into to try and tackle. Levels and equipment would be reset so everyone's on the same page. Not sure if I'd do random generation, but in either case, see the Ancient Cave in Lufia.Let me finish off with a shadow loli.

But on topic, Kilin, are you using the same Mother 3-esque text engine for all of your games?
