64Completition Progress Check 6

Posted by Castypher on June 21, 2013, 4:21 p.m.

As requested by Cesque, these progress checks are nothing more than a chance to show off. They are no longer mandatory, though I do recommend posting here as it's a motivating factor. Or rather, it sucks when you have nothing to post. I know from experience.

Other than that, this time isn't much different from any other time. I see a few people as usual are making steady progress, which I'm happy to see.

This blog is going to be fairly short because I don't have much to say on the matter. However, I do want to see some more reasons for productivity in the near future. This event occurred at a bad time, which I'm sure many of you will agree, mostly due to things that happened directly after. We'll see where it goes, though.

Good luck.

P.S. Am I like the only person left working on something for this (apart from all those people who keep their projects secret or keep restarting from scratch)? o.O
Contrary to what I post about my game, I've been doing a lot of bugfixing and am currently baffled by a series of bugs that only occur on certain computers, and only about 50% of the time at that. One is how the textbox engine randomly freezes the game at times, which I attributed to GM's surface handling, and another is how during certain particle bursts, the game acts like it's in an infinite loop.

Actually, trying to discover the source of these bugs has contributed to my reasons for having to cut back so much planned content, and I'm half-inclined to just releasing with these bugs intact.

Though, I guess you could lump me under being secretive or at least being less than public about it. I've made quite a few changes I haven't mentioned yet.

Also, your firehose problems gave me a good chuckle.

It's not funny ;_;

Why must rope/chain/whatever physics be so un-obvious? It's one of those things that sounds easy in theory and then… yeah.

Yeah, I was playing around with rope physics and ended up getting something that worked pretty well up until I decided to use it for hair/ribbons blowing in the wind.

Hey I've only restarted from scratch once. I'm still working though, yes.

I only sort of restarted from scratch - I'm still following the same design and project structure anyway, it's just a different engine. :(

I actually didn't make a lot of progress in the last few days because of someone wanting to do Portal 2 coop and then getting hooked on Dust: AET, but I finished Dust around 4am this morning so hopefully I'll be able to get from the step where I open an IDE to the step where I do things in the IDE.

it's almost 5am and i'm rambling, gon go sleep now k bye

I'm working on mine, just… being lazy and not posting screenshots.
