64Completition - A Vote

So I'm still in the middle of putting together the games blog, and it should be done by later tonight. But a few people have voiced some concerns to me and I want opinions from everyone on whether or not this additional month to polish up is going to be enough.

Originally I wanted to end the Completition before the fall semester began for a lot of people, and make use of the entire summer to finish things, but I've been seeing a lot of people suffering from these time constraints, so I want to get the opinion from everyone concerning an extension.

The goal was to finish a game and have the opportunity for it to be included in a 64Digits bundle as provided by IndieBundle. They do want quality games and I was sure that we could provide. However, it seems that the summer has been unrelenting to some people and I've watched people who are really invested in their projects just stressing about something that was supposed to be a stress-free event.

So here's the question:

What are your thoughts on an extension beyond the additional month of polish I'm giving after today? If you are in favor of an extension, how much do you think would be fair?

Remember, the goal is to produce quality games that everyone is happy with, and to do so as a community so you have others cheering you on. I've played a lot of the games so far and I've been really impressed and eager to see these finished, and I'll do so by any means necessary.

The extension wouldn't come without its limits, however. If we extend it too long, people will lose interest, and IndieBundle probably doesn't want to wait around for us, either.

For those who do finish early and want to keep participating, I'm sure nobody will complain if you create another game and use it as an entry. But before you do so, your current game will have to pass the usual criticism and judgment, which will be as early as you need it.

What, in addition to finishing and polishing the games, do we still need to do? I know there was mention of cover art, video, and screenshots, but can we lock down on what we need to do in that direction?

i'm working on a video trailer for Maiko Fuse, just because it seems like the obvious thing to do. Kilin hasn't really addressed what all to supply besides the game, screenshots and presumably a help file. so i presume other stuff would be optional.

NOTE THESE ARE PRESUMPTIONS

Once the deadline strikes, you'll be given an additional month to polish your game and remove those pesky bugs. During this time, you should also:

- Take into account the feedback you've received

- Net some good quality screenshots or teaser images

- Produce a trailer of some sort

- Have box art or a logo ready
I've said this many, many times. There's not much else you should be concerned with, but bugtesting is a major point in any game, so please do a good job of that.

Aside from polish and bugtesting, it's showing people what the game is about before they play it that I'm interested in seeing from everyone.
