Me and game maker

The first time I heard of game maker:

I still remember the first time when i heared that a program like game maker existed. It was at school and I had too chooze between Computer science and some other boring thing that's about ecenomics or sumthin like that. So professors of both types of classes came to our class and explained what we should expect next year. Damn i was in for a surprise! The teacher of PC science "Mr. Klaasen". Said the magic words "we are gonna program a game in the third period of the year". I asked him if he could repeat that and also to explain how he was planning to do that! So he did and said sumthin about this "game maker". so i looked it up on the web. When i started programmind the Version 6.0 came out and soon after the 6.1 version with the awesome!!! effects:P. i dun use them anymore couse i think there cheapy-ish now. (i did use them in the randoom game :S :P). Plz forgive me for mixed messages. Anywayz!. now game maker is my cocaine.

My first try at game maker:

It was together with my friend when i tried making my first game. He was sitting next to me and hours where passing like hell. It was 12 at night and my friend was pretty tired so he told me he was gonna go take a liltle nap and BRB. Well i never returned. So i was programming there till The sun came up. And i made the suckiest game ever. Well i really tried. I discovered then that learning how to use game maker wasn't gonna take one day.

My first game "Randoom":

That was one cool game if you ask me. too bad the FL File is corrupted. It was pure drag and drop and i got like a 8.5 average. Okey i used like one typed code that i tottaly did not get. "image_angle=point_direction(x,y,mouse_,mouse_y).

If i think back i just can't imagen i didn't get that. Wel, too tell you guys sumthin i still dun know what a argument is. But somehow i don't need it couse programming is goin just fine.

My sequal of "Randoom U.P.A":

This is the revolutionized Randoom. Damn i loved! making this game. I knew exactly what i wanted and the enmy's just poored out of my head. It took about half a year before it was done but i wassn't programming that intensivly all the time. I finished it becouse i had to get a grade for My Game maker project at school. Gues what i got!!!. A++. a perfect 10. Enough with my ego.

The game i'm working on right now "Static"

This game is inspired by my very! first game made with game maker. It was Very bad and glitchy. Evry game maker knows what i'm talking about. you make tons of crappy games before you get one good one. Well i think most of us do. Well i really liked that stupid lilte game that was very simple to play but hard to win. It was just about you being a ball and going threw the whole level without hitting enemys etc etc. Well it's looking much better then my first ever game.

Well I can relate to "first game experiences". I did Roll On! for my first GM game and I tried to pour my heart an soul into that game, but it did have it's "glitches" no mater what I tried at the time. Took about a month and a half but I thought I had it as good as I could ever get it. Ain't it great how after you uplaod a game you figure out more? My girlfriend bought me a book (The Game Maker's Apprentice) for a Christmas gift… I mean, yeah, I had plenty of info with the help section, but it helped me in ways that made it posible to do at least one of my other games and make others easier. Get that feeling that a game is "never good enough". Wish I would have had game programing in school many years ago. They only covered the boring basic computer stuff on IBM XT's I think… (the classes were filled so I had to learn everything on my own computers). Your Randoom U.P.A. was most impressive. Just wish it ran faster (and properly) on my machine.
