But, uhh, aiming is kind of frustrating.I'm pretty sure this is the best looking GM game I've ever played.Fuck that, it's the best looking 2d game I've ever played.I like the way you named the rooms, very Metroid Prime-ish. I also like the map system, very cool. I don't have to mention the graphics are awesome (except for the background near the 'tree')
But I got some bugs to report.- When I got to the 'demo' wall, on top of the stairway, I couldn't move anymore.- When I stand still just before a stairway, and then try to go up, I can't.Oh wow I just got all the idol things.
Took forever to figure out you could interact with those things that you use to get up to places.Super-awesome. Two things I found:
- I can't unequip my weapon once I pull it out. - When you wait in pause too long the player unequips his weapon. O_oSweet as hell, it's so atmoshperic.
Bugs/Thoughts:-'Demo' wall does indeed stick player.-Turning around, particularly while shooting, is very slow and got a bit frustrating.-Aiming isn't great but I suppose there's alot worse. Why megaupload may I ask? anyway, ill comment back after playing.
Wow. This was so much better(but shorter of course) and more entertaining than the previous installment.
The other people pretty much summed up everything, but I have a couple complaints.-later on, I suggest having that middle door glow where the demo wall is so that after collecting those idols itll open(prolly planning on that anyway)-i lost health from bats and stuff really fast. maybe cause the bats came at a weird angle that i couldnt really shoot. i think for a first level they should be easier to kill, and of course some kind of life around the ruins. maybe a ghost thingy to regen a little bit of life.-finally, later on id like the pause button to be something else than spacebar, but maybe i just wasnt used to the controls.looks feels and sounds amazing so far. if you go through the game all the way it will be commercial no doubt.Nah I think the enemies were great, sure they would hit you once, but you knew what to do. I was hoping for a death animation but I can't die… The way doors light up when you shoot into this is sweet. The bloom for the gun is beautiful, do you draw semi-transparent sprites or do you really have bloom tools? Gameplay is awesome, but I wish there was a way to shoot directly up or down. Thumbs up and a tip of the hat, now get back to work.
Could have done with tutorial bits, as it wasn't obvious that you could, say, grab onto poles using Z. Of course, this probably isn't the opening area, so that's forgivable.
Everything was beautiful. It's hard to make levels look organic and eroded, but you did amazingly well. Very nice UI, too.Overall, very impressive. No bloom effects, just additive blend modes
