[DSG] - Yea. Seriously. More strides in progress.

Alright. MORE PROGRESS. Well, like I said, I'm combining the ruins with the sandlands. I've come to a beautiful conclusion aswell!

Basically, Now we have 4 temples. And they're beautifully arranged:

Ruun Temple: [location: Maibuu Rainlands]The jungle/wetland temple.

Azkarian Temple: [location: Maibuu Sandlands] The desert/hot/sandy/fiery temple

Kailuu Temple: [location: Kailuu Flats] The ice/frozen/winter temple

Sacred Temple: [location: Spirit World] The temple where you are teleported to to fight each deity.

Okay. I HOPE YOU DON'T MIND, but I used the same background art for the Azkarian Temple as I did for the Ruun Temple, took out the trees, and completely recolored it… I hope people don't think that's cheap to have done so, as it looks SO good in both environments.

OTHER NOTABLE CHANGES:

the doors were once all blacked out, this was especially obvious with the doors in the background. This became ugly and inconsistent as some of those doors lead out to bright outdoor portions. So, I've made the doors that lead outside have light coming through them. The side doors glow and the other doors show through to the background. It's a little awkward but a lot better than a black hole that goes outside. You can see what I mean in the above screenshots.

SO BASICALLY, I have FINISHED the key design schemes for the Maibuu Rainlands, Maibuu Sandlands [and Azkarian Temple], Ruun Temple, and all I have left is the Marshlands, the Kailuu Flats, and the Sacred Temple.

Then I'll be done with the visual design for the entire game.

Just gotta make the rest of the enemies, make the bosses, the rest of the music

Gotta make a few animation sequences [ship landing, artifact aquisition, etc]

FURTHER PROGRESS: remember the little windmill things from the old version? I put them back in and they're already programmed in. They'll be used to get from area to area. Forgive the comparison, but they're like the elevators in Metroid Prime.

Every good game has windmills.

Nice. Still gotta see everything in action before I can judge though.

DSG 14 years, 6 months ago

they just take a LOT of time.

They are too awesome to be completed as quickly as you finish them, even if you worked 24/7 =p

I suspect magic.

Care to make a timelapse video of you designing some area? :P

Redundantly named Temple is still redundantly named.

I'm amazed by your organisation skills… I mean, I'm physically incapable of just designing graphics for everything and THEN programming for everything.

Ok.. how about SPIRIT TEMPLE. hmm?

I think windmills is way to unused in any form of media, seriously they're awesome.
