A Tentative Example

Well - I'm starting a project. Combination exploration/textbased thing. Explore, walk around, and interact by typing stuff like 'eat apple' and 'open door'

Here's a tentative screenshot of some stuff I made today.

Do you think I should keep going? You got a little blond guy in some laboratory, and some brunette in the kitchen.

Thinks to look at:

I can do all of the gfx like that, that well - but it would take forever.

The base engine shouldn't be too hard, but I would have a bajillion individually placed objects with individual responses, and such.

And I haven't made anything in GM in forever.

So whatcha think - should I keep going?

//Ick. I hate text-based games.//

Not text-based in the sense that all you see is words. Text-based interaction - it opens up more possibilities than 'pick up' and 'use' - you have to use logic.

Use some dithering. It works.

I'm doing it in this style on purpose - chiefly as a test for the style, and also because I suck at dithering.

I think using corner-highlights works rather well.

Dithering on what?
