A Laptop?

I have bought, for a grand total of 600$US, a new laptop. Not just any laptop, a good laptop. The Acer Aspire 5102, with a 120GB hardrive, 1 GB DDR2 RAM, AMD Turion 64 TL-50 X2, a built in webcam, and a 15 inch screen.

Hooray for Thanksgiving Sales!

Here's mah baby:

*NOTE* That is not my actual laptop, it is a picture of someone else's of the same model.

Woohoo!

Wonderous awesomeness. I will have a nice little demo of that tentative idea I am working on - it is functioning very nicely, and isn't a usual text-based game. You will see why when I let you test out the beginning bit.

I successfully sprited a walk animation, and it was the devil to get a smooth walk animation on a character only 32px tall, especially the north/south animations.

I've also sprited a nice spider-thing - a 2 frame animation played at about 2 frames per second that makes it come out beautifully. Yes - it is a text-based game, but you aren't stuck with typing every command. You will have to attack and defend against monsters too.

Enjoy, and speculate upon the storyline.

Nice going sk8.

I wish I had a laptop. [:(]Or a computer that didn't suck.

Oh shit.

Damn, how does a Intel core 2 duo T5550(1.66ghz) compare with that AMD processor?

I don't know - probably about the same. I prefer AMD over Intel usually. I don't know why.

Look at it this way. AMD's highest clock speed is only 2.6GHz, yet it is faster than Intel's 4.6 GHz processors. It's not always about the clock speed especially now that AMD merged with ATI which will get you more overclocking, processor cooling and other stuff.
