Arrogant Worms and Smash Bros

They are this Canadian band, and they have the funniest songs ever. Random, pointless, hilarious, and utterly ridiculous. My favorite song is Carrot Juice is Murder - and every time I hear the word 'vegetarian' or 'vegan' I think of this song (not that I have anything against them).

They sing about everything, my favorites, aside from Carrot Juice is Murder, are the Gaelic Song, the Winnebago song, Sponges, Goin' Huntin, and every other song they have made. Lets face it, they are awesome, and there is no way to avoid it.

<table width=100%><tr><td style="background: transparent url(http://64digits.com/users/DesertFox/header_line.PNG) repeat-x scroll 0%; width:100%; height: 24px;"><h2 style="color:black">Nice Things and Necessary Bias</h2></td></tr></table>Interestingly, I have recieved more than a few PM/IMs from people telling me that they like my standards, that I am doing a good job as a mod. That makes me happy, and I enjoy knowing that you guys like how I am doing things.

A little seriousness, I want to talk about necessary bias - it is something to keep in mind when creating a game. I was reminded of this while talking to someone. I thought it would be a good idea to talk about it here, because it is an interesting subject, and it deals with all of us.

As the creator of a game, you are necessarily biased in its favor - no matter what, you will always think it is better than it is, even if you realize it. That's not to say that you can't make good games - its just to say don't go off and say 'I made this awesome game' without making sure it <i>actually is</i> an awesome game by having people (random people, not close friends who are also necessarily biased in your favor) play it and tell you it is awesome.

<table width=100%><tr><td style="background: transparent url(http://64digits.com/users/DesertFox/header_line.PNG) repeat-x scroll 0%; width:100%; height: 24px;"><h2 style="color:black">Smash</h2></td></tr></table>My friend finally got his Cube from his house - we both love playing Super Smash Brothers Melee, and he is godlike in his abilities - he is one of those people that are insanely good because he plays it all the time whenever he can. I'm not as good as him, but I'm deadly with Zelda and her foot. The biggest difference between me and him is that he relies on a constant barrage of attacks to connect, while I rely on precision strikes - my hit percentage is much higher than his.

When playing Smash Bros, who do you use and why? I use Zelda a lot, because I can connect with the foot more often than you'd like. She is great against Captain Falcon players, who short-hop and use the knee. Her range of the foot basically makes that strongest attack useless. Also, short-hopping and using her foot can mean a deadly-fast attack at ground level.

<table width=100%><tr><td style="background: transparent url(http://64digits.com/users/DesertFox/header_line.PNG) repeat-x scroll 0%; width:100%; height: 24px;"><h2 style="color:black">Diehard and a Question</h2></td></tr></table>So I've been watching Bruce Willis movies. Diehard, Unbreakable, etc. I really liked Unbreakable, it is a great movie and I really suggest you watch it. It definitely has an interesting story, and the ending is great. I've also been watching the Diehard series - Bruce Willis with hair! No wai!

I've also been sleeping quite a bit lately, and I love it.

So here's a question - what do you think of my implemented standards?

Despite what my username implies, I don't think I'm very good at SSBM any more. I used to be, and started using the name on a Smash Bros forum. I just don't have time to practice anymore.

My character of choice was and still is Luigi. He has superb wave dashes, a good set of moves, and I'm natural with him.

Umm…you and your misaligned subtitles and borders.

No I've never heard of them…sounds kinda…weird…Have you ever heard of that band BS? (Brian and Stephen) I DIDN'T THINK SO!

I love supersmash brothers

Your hits have skyrocketed by the way

I think your standards are good too. The games+examples that are accepted are decent quality and you are doing a good job. :)

As for SSBM, I've only played like seven times. I like that cartoon guy that can basically do anything. I forgot his name.
