Eeeeaaahhhhhyyy!!!

I am DesertFonz…

Oh, and Radnoms blog about the site knowing him reminded me of the strange message I recieved. Apparently, I am DesertCat.

Meow.

And so life goes on, my graphics card didn't mysteriously revive, and I can't work on my stuff.

But I can work in Wings3D - I am trying to learn d3d. See, I can get the 3dmodels loaded in, get them to rotate whichever way I want, only, UVMaps don't work.

In other words, all 3dmodels are only one color, the top-left color of their chosen texture. Why? I don't know! I shall have to PM some people.

So I get to make as many low-poly 3dmodels as possible, for a Top-Secret project that will be totally awesome, if it ever gets off the ground.

And since I removed my graphics card, my computer acts as if I have no video memory at all - I can't even run 6.0, which I could before my graphics card. So I shall restore my computer to factory settings after transfering about 5 gB of data to my other computer, via wireless network. I could transfer all my games, too, but I can just re-install them.

A younger brother whom I let borrow Renegade and Tiberian Sun lost BOTH of the games, so I have to get a no-cd patch for TS and the entire game+no-cd patch for renegade.

Good news is my wireless works, and I can mess around on the internet until I get a new GFXcard.

Whoopie! Goldberg! Samwidges!

at least you have a network. I am having to put all my suff on CDs, we don't even have a DVD writer. So thats about 50GB of stuff on the PC, 700mb can fit on a CD, so how many CDs will I need?

many, many cds marbs.

which is faster? wire or wireless networks?

DesertFox 18 years, 3 months ago

Depends on your type of wire - ethernet and firewire are a lot faster than modem. And wireless can range from 5 mBps to over 100 and higher.

At a rough estimate, it should be around 70 something. And then theres the putting it all back on the PC again…
