Well, I just got back from my 27 mile backpacking trip that a few of you may have heard about… anyhow, it turned out great. I didn't end up getting hurt, and I was actually among the most fit people there (for better or for worse; I ended up getting to carry other peopple's junk…). Some highlights from the trip:

My friend lit his pants on fire while drying them out after falling in a river… he burnt out the crotch… and had to wear them into town the next day.

I survived on hardtack, beef jerkey, aprocots, and prunes. I'm never going to eat like that again, but it was somewhat convenient.

I ended up using 20+ year old water purification tablets that have been removed from the market because they are known to 'cause reproductive system damage' and various other nasty things… I'll leave it up to you: are my future babies doomed?

I made ten trips across a river carrying various backpacks, shoes, and people across, as I was one of the most sure-footed in water crossings.

My friend and I went minimalist and only packed a rainfly, not tent. It rained, and we managed to stay dry… it was sweet (thank god for water proof sleping bags).

I could go on and on… but I won't.

In other news…

One of my friends is trying to convince me to make a spoof on sportsgames: backpacking '07… I probably won't, but who knows…

In less related other news:

I'm considering quitting development on MAIS and switching fully to the collab… though mais was wel accepted on the GMC, not many people appeared to like it much here…
