Fun… I get to type with one hand (left… and I'm right handed…). The reason is as follows:
I went to my martial arts school, and in the last minute or two of class, we ended up playing dodge ball. I was recoiling for a throw, when someone threw a large rbber ball at me, torqueing my arm backwards. My arm went numb, and I looked down at it, and it was sort of flopping around.. not good. I limped over to a seat and collapsed, and was almost unconscious for a few minutes, and, after that, I tried standing up and I felt a sharppain, along with nausia. We ended up getting the paramedics to transport me to a hospital… which sucked; they're too gruff.Anyhow, after I got to the hospital, they payed with my arm, asking me tojudge the pain with that friggin' smiley rating system… I called it "a little pain" which misled them into thinking that I was fine… and, let me tell you, getting into position for the x ray was one of the most painful things I've experienced (morphene doesn't realy effect me) They decided that It would need surgery, as I was what's called a spiral fracture (bone broke in a spiral). They decided to send me over to a better hospital for the operation, and a morpheneless car ride over bumpy roads wasn't too fun…I arrived at the hospital, and the specialist there laughed and told me that a surgery would be pointless, as It wouldn't help much, and It would have a chance f permanently paralizing my right hand…They put me in a half stratjacket, which I have to wear for 2-3 weeks, then I get a cast. I also have to sleep vertically during this time… not too fun.My wrist hurts, so I'm taking a break from typing….
=O
Wow. =(
That sucks. I'd hate to sleep vertically - my room is in the attic.
Holy crap! Well, I hope you get better soon.
Yeah.. it really sucs… I might scan and post the xrays later… It's a weird break.
if it's a normal keyboard you're typing on, that sucks - *I* can hardly type with one hand on a full-size keyboard with one hand, and I have crazy long fingers. If it's a laptop keyboard for a smaller model, though, you should be fine.
Too bad about your arm. It would have been better if you got a greenstick facture - that's what I had, and they heal pretty easily - I was done two weeks ahead of schedual. Though the full-arm cast sucked.Wow, the vertical sleeping sounds like it sucks.
Straight jacket? I dunno, that seems a little extreme for a broken arm. But, i'm not a doctor. Yea, having a broken arm does suck. Everything is 5 times as hard as it usually is. Can't remember what kind of fracture I had. All i remember is a huge gaping hole in my arm, so.Hope it heels ok, and good luck with everything, it's gonna be hard.Thanks… and when I say straight jacket,I mean that's what the splint/ sling is like. My arm is in a sling up against my chest, wrapped to my body with some bandaging. I can't move it at all…
sleeping upright dosent sound too cool.
And try pecking to type with one hand. Its what I'm doing right now, with my mouse in the other hand. I can do it pretty fast, my mind knows where all the keys are (though i cant site them from memory… its instinct or something…). Of course, you probably won't do it very fast if youre used to typing "the normal way" like I never bothered to learn :PAnyhow, hope you get better.RENEMBER THE 5 D's OF DODGEBALL
dodgeduckdivedipand dodgeand u did none of those, so its ur fault which i will now display witha a "hahaing"HAHAHAHAHA
