Seeing as halo stirred up so much fuss …… i was wondering what consoles people like. naturaly im a big xbox/xbox360 fan and i have consistently despised PS systems for as long as i can remember. nintendo is a classic sort of console and i couldnt possibly not like there systems. As for the revolution it will be sweet! so lets see how many xbox haters we have.
Doom was a PC game you fruitcake (heck, I have the shareware version right here!). It was ported to NES in '96, and even then required a Super FX 2 chip. Yeesh, get your facts straight.
Consoles suck. Non-upgradable, non-customizable peices of junk. Long live PC gaming!Uh, dude, I know that.
And it was SNES, not NES.I play the game all the time on the SNES and PC.I've beaten it on Ultra Violence. 2, Plutonia, and TNT as well.As for Doom 3… maybe later. It's not so much that I hate XBox itself, as that I hate all the games. I'm not a fan of sports, nor sports games, and most fighting games (with the exception of the Tekken series) bore me quickly. Since that sums up the majority of XBox games, it's just not for me. As FSX mentioned, Playstation has the widest variety of games. I like that, because it means that at least a few of the games will be to my taste. (A few, heh. I have 236 PS1 games.) To Flashback, I say, No, consoles, aren't upgradeable, but at the same times, that means they all have the same hardware, and the developers know it. There's no concern about having a good enough video card, or a fast enough CPU. It's nice sometimes to be able to just sit back and know that whatever game you get, the system can run it. ^_^
Here are my opinions lol:
-Xbox is really fun and I like a lot of games on the system EVEN THOUGH most of them aren't PURELY Xbox. I think the Halo series among a few other games (Fable for example) made it what it is though. Xbox Live is BY FAR the best online for any console ever. You can expect that, coming from Microsoft.- Playstation is my least favourite of the three even though I have my own PS1 (one of the newer mini things). I don't like many of it's famous titles that much due to either lack of playing or just not really liking it (Metal Gear Series, God of War, Ratchet and Clank, Sly Cooper, and Jak and Daxter are names that stand out). I'm not really liking where the PS3 is headed price-wise and controller-wise lol.- NINTENDO. What can I say about Nintendo… Not much. The Legend of Zelda, DK and Mario pretty much sum it up. Ocarina of Time (N64) and Super Mario World (SNES) are two of my all-time favourite games. Other titles that stand out are SSBM and the Mario Kart series. I really like where the Revolution is headed and I've just always liked Nintendo.- PC is the best video gaming invention ever. Ever console pretty much is a computer. And computer FPSs are the best. Dreaus might say that it's better with a controller pad and Melee might say that the stylus from DS is better but I don't see how you can beat the mouse. Go MoH:AAS, BF1942, CoD, AoE, NHL, and a ton others I don't feel like naming.Every console is a computer Fender, no doubt about it.
My responses to Fender's console statements…Xbox - Pretty cool, but too large, games are all just ports practically, apparently has good online, but I have a funny feeling Revolution's online will kick its ass, real hard. Sony - Yeah, the PS3 is ridiculous. I swear, it looks like a refrigerator I saw in a flyer. Plus it has the Spiderman font. The controllers aren't even sane, and it's definately going to be the most powerful console, even though it doesn't need it. Just like 360 doesn't even need to be as powerful as it is. I personally despise the graphics in a lot of games coming out. Why? They look like well modelled pieces of clay! I hate it!Nintendo - I think it will do best in the "next-gen", or in Nintendo's case, the "new-gen" gaming era. Why? Because PS3 is going to probably have limited shipments due to the insanely high price, the Xbox 360 has the usual hardware issues, and because Nintendo has 20 years of games to back it up. (Super Mario Bros, woot!). Downloadable. That would beat 360's arcade any day. Plus the controller is going to offer some really fun game playing. Just like the DS is currently beating PSP in both Japan and North America, I think Revolution will do the same with X360 and PS3.Also, I would prefer styli over mice any day for an FPS. Much more control.I also think that computers are no match for a console, I mean, they're in a sense, completely different, but at the same time, the same. You cannot beat using a controller. And finally, the best reason to buy a Revolution, it's shiny and it has an awesome blue light!I could write more, but I don't feel like it right now. You may think my opinions are also biased, and if so, I say you're wrong. My responses to Melee:
Xbox - It is too large yeah, but when has that been a problem? And Xbox Live is really, really good. You haven't even seen it lol.Sony - You already said much of that earlier. And well modelled pieces of clay? What?? Don't see how a Lamborghini Diablo can look like a piece of clay…And, name at least five times you've used a mouse for an online FPS and we'll talk about which is better. How are computer's worse than consoles? I agree completely with Flashback here. Consoles are static. They come out with a new one every year. You buy it. Your old one gets forgotten becaues you can play your old games on the new one. Computers ARE upgradable. Any good computer can play games coming out. And I doubt there are any games (aside, obviously, from DS games) that wouldn't be able to run on a PC if it was properly ported. And who says you can't use controllers on the PC? The Xbox 360 controller came out for PC before the system was even out.http://64digits.com/forums/index.php?topic=318
