Blog… COMMENCE!!!
I came back from Dubai yesterday. Arrived at 2 in the morning with AirArabia and got home at 3:30 am. Then I slept until one.DubaiI saw the Burj al Arab, but didn’t stay there. I also went to a shopping mall where they had a ski slope inside. Yes, the temperature was -3 (Celsius, sorry Americans :D) in the ski area. Even though it was winter, outside was extremely hot. Waste of energy anyone?Dubai has cranes everywhere. It’s expanding really fast and has malls less than a kilometer apart from each other all over the place. I stayed in Sharjah, at the Embassy Suites hotel. Sharjah is a few minutes from Dubai. I celebrated new years in dubai though. I bet none of you know how many American shops there are. I try to list some of the food places first. They had:-Starbucks-McDonalds-Burger King-Subways-KFC-Chili’s-Dunkin’ Donuts-TGI Fridays-Popeye’sAnd I’m just warming up….They also had loads of American shops too, like FootLocker for example. Globalization at its best.I also was lucky enough to see an old friend (who I hadn’t seen in over 5 years). He lives in walking distance from the tallest building in the world (which is in Dubai, yes). I even drove past the tallest building (I was right next to it). It basically dwarfs the other buildings out. Buildings that you would think are tall seem like little flats next to it. I could even see the building while I was eating dinner with my friend.I will put up photos in my next blog.SpritesI did these a while before I left. I know that aren’t great. They’re not even close to being ok. I would like to hear some feedback, though, and maybe ways to improve them. I would really appreciate that. The only thing I think I didn't screw up was the proportions and line art. I know, my shading sucks.I'll finish off this blog the traditional way, by asking questions.1. Have any of you been to Dubai? The Arabian gulf? The middle-east? Or even close to the middle east?2. Will you forgive me? I know my blog has lots of grammar and spelling mistakes, but like I said in the first paragraph, I arrived home at three-thirty. And am I tired…3. Why does everyone use tags now in their blogs? Could it be a turn off for reading the blog to see the tag of someone you don't like? I bet you would get more hits if you didn't use tags.More ContentThis is my first blog of 2008. My blog with the most comments was my last one of 2007Blog is finished lol
Why the heck do so many people end their sentences with "lol"? It's annoying.
Not as annoying as the people who comment on things as insignificant as that.
I think the sprites look pretty cool. The shotgun and the pistol (in the bottom right corner), for some reason, don't look right to me. But what do I know, I never could pixel pistols :D .
~TDOT>1. No. No. No. No.
2. Yes. I find people complaining about poor grammar really annoying, especially given the site has members as young as 13.3. I actually don't know.@ stampede: Simple, it is used to point out something that's supposed to be funny.@TDOT
Thank you very much for your feedback. You're right, the pistol at the bottom doesn't look right to me either. I'll try to fix that later. The gun below the shotgun (which is at the top left corner) is a revolver.I know what it means Phil. :D
But people use it like punctuation! In example; I didn't find it funny at all that ESA ended his blog? People just put it in the end of every other sentence!I'm not accusing ESA or anyone particulary, I just brought it up on this blog. It is so common on the internet today, that it just annoys me.The handle on the pistols are too long and too far back. Handles too long for the sniper rifle and bazooka as well. Rest of the sprites look awesome though.
1. No, but my brother and father have.2. No, there's no excuse.3. I don't use tags.@stampede: You're absolutely right. Normally I don't use it either, but I just wanted to end the blog in a way I don't use normally. I really hate it too when people use it in every second sentence.
@Juju: So you don't forgive me :(Thanks for your feedback also. I don't like the bazooka much either.1. No
2. You're still waaay better than SOME people
3. If I stopped using tags, I'd have to make a new banner.
On a side note: THANK YOU for your last blog. 5 Days A Stranger & its 3 sequels (and Trilby: The Art Of Theft) are fantastic.
@stampede: I like to eat broccoli!
What?
Trilby games are just spectacular!
