Oh hi there. I haven't fronted a blog in a while, and I suppose it's okay to do every so often.

I'm going to skip what's going on in my life because no one gives a shit about what's happening to people they don't know >_>

I'm re-doing the graphics for the shmup F1aky and I are working on… for the third time. Hopefully the last as well =)

Here is what they are sort of going to look like.

The overly-saturated border actually doesn't have anything to do with it, but I just put it in there because I think it looks kind of cool.

Project Parallax… the steampunk one now has a soundtrack-type thing. Basically it's some ambient noises that sounds somewhat like steam and machinery. There's some rain in there as well.

I fucking love rain! =)

It looks much better now =). The bar-coding's going to need some redoing, but I can live with that.

I love rain too!

Okay… maybe not.

Who's that in your banner, Johan Sebastian Bass? :)

Nice graphics (cool HUD). The steampunk project sounds very interesting (steampunk <3)

Sick banner.

MGMT think that Bach's Fugue classifies as psychedelic music.

So no purple psyched procedurally quadrangular backgrounds?

And in reply to the last blog, music isn't necessary. Fully optional. And as for the dither looking heavy, I thought the heavyness made it that much more grungy. And who doesn't like grungy steampunk?

ESA 16 years, 3 months ago

Well, with the color scheme changing and all (and with the advent of tiles), I think the background is going to be a bit more… calm. It would be very nice to have some sort of bonus mode where that is the background, though. I actually think Flakflak finished coding that part…

And come to think of it, music might clash with the soundtrack. And how can you even make "steampunk" music? :P I could keep the heavy dither in there, but maybe change it a bit to keep the buildings from looking so pillowy. Grungy-pillowy. We don't want that. Grungy-steampunky, that's it =)

I am working on the procedurally-generated purple quadrangle background. It's making progress, but it's not done yet.
