I'm fairly new at Game Maker, so I decided to learn it by trying to copy a game and learning how to use the program.
I thought I was doing well for a new guy, but then I stumbled and faced the expected problems.The current problems I'm facing are:1) When I duck with Scrooge McDuck (no pun intended), the animation plays well, but then I realized that I can press right and left and he'd move while ducking, and at the same time displaying a stupid animation of him gliding while ducking and his hat is stuck in the air.2) When I climb the rope, I was only able to make him climb with one sprite, rather than the climbing animation, I tried fixing it, and the end result was him climbing the air instead of walking, so I took it out, now he just climbs the rope while displaying the jumping animation, I don't know how to fix it.3) I tried to make the cane command (on the NES, it was triggered by pressing Down and B). So I tried but I wasn't able to trigger it, I'm new at this one as well. An experienced user with GM sent me a certain command and told me to press Down and D (my button of choice), and it triggers a message stating that I pressed the button (he wanted to check if my code was wrong, and it was). Also, how do I set my profile pic, when I go to the edit profile settings, I can't seem to find that option!Thanks for your comment, truly appreciated!There is a section for avatar and banner, in the section is a drop box where you select images from your file manager.
Edit, a little note, the users here probably stay as far away as possible from drag and drop. Most of the users here have a good amount of years experience in programming and probably don't want to deal with such an annoying simplistic style of programming :(Make a fighting game featuring all the anthromorphosized duck cartoon characters; Daffy Duck, Donald Duck, Darkwing Duck, Scrooge McDuck, The Mighty Ducks, Howard the Duck, the list goes on.
