First off, about my iPod:
It's a vegetable. I have a Second Generation, 4GB iPod Mini. I tried to install iPodLinux on it, last night. However, it failed. I know what I did wrong, too.I accidentally made a start.txt file on it, instead of a start file with no extension. Now, my iPod just shows the Apple Logo, doesn't respond to input, and it won't sohw up on my computer or iTunes. It's in a vegetative state. "You say tomato, I say Kenny!", or, in this case, I say iPod.Second off, my plans:I still can't fucking find out how to get that whole compiling thing in XBasic. It's complicated as hell. And, because of my vegetative iPod, my saving plans are all fucked up. I have been saving up for a computer to put Linux on. But, because I want Music and a Linux more than a Computer with Linux, I'm saving up for a Second Generation, 4G Ipod mini. Why that kind? I made a backup folder that had an exact replica of the contents of my iPod before Linux was installed on it.So, yeah. My job should be starting in less than a month, but I haven't received an email from them yet. I don't even know if I'm going to work this year. I hope so, really bad. Now I have shit besides weed I wanna buy.Third off, 64Digits:I have been asking the admins to add support for .html files for a long time. I have been ignored, for a long time. Then, Herooftime55 asks, once, and a bunch of admins respond. The answer was no, but still, I don't like being ignored. Meanies. So yeah. I'm not sure if this blog is long enough, but I am pretty sure it is.–Eternal.
As you may have noticed, I said I have other things to spend my money on, as in I won't be spending my money on it anymore.
And MK53, I choose not to tell you that.Mabye you just don't have that 'famous' element :P
Anyways, for your iPod, try opening it as an external drive (like F:/ or whatever), and wipe it clean. The hardware is fine, so if you just figure out how to wipe the software clean, then reformat it or whatever, that might work. There is a place to download the iPod's OS, right? Now, I'm no iPod expert, I havent got a clue wether or not it will work, but given as your iPod isnt doing much at all right now, I guess it wouldnt hurt to try, right? As you may have noticed, I said the iPod won't show up in My Computer.
I searched Google for this problem and came up with a solution:
1. Grasp the iPod firmly in your hand2. Chuck it in the trash3. Buy a Creative Zen V Plus[;)]I'm not really an iPod fan.XD!
Well… the problem could be that your ex2 partition isn't showing up in Winblows. If you could mount it on a Linux box, then you might be able to either rename the start.txt file to start, or just wipe the thing clean.
But I believe there are ways to mount the ex2 partition in Windows.
