Generic game idea...

As I sit back and watch my main project Psycho Place collect dust until I get back into it. I decided to go with something a little simpler and lamer, a base defense game, with a couple BS attempts at making it innovative…this is what I got so far.

Name: Bloody Hell (although it won't be bloody at all, lawl)

How it works: You start off with 4 turrets spread out across your base. These keep you formidable as they are

upgradeable. If they are destroyed, you will surely lose.

Enemies come from every direction so you keep switching back and forth to take out the greatest force which

will be signaled by a radio announcement. The turrets go to auto when not in human control, but they aim much

slower, leaving them open to much more damage.

There are also "helpers" and powerups.

HELPERS::

Mechanic: A mechanic is always present behind the lines, slowly fixing your turrets. If he is killed, another will

come in time. Only one mechanic can be on the field at a time, try to protect him.

Soldiers: A squad of soldiers shoots at any enemy near the main base, although they are easily killed off. And

cost money. Only 3 squads can be present at any time.

CHOPPAS!: A chopper can be called in for the right price, it will hover around your base and take out any

enemies in 1 hit for a few seconds, then leave.

Captain: The captain is a powerful unit. He runs around the map and kills off any enemies with a flamethrower,

he cannot be hurt as he has a shield on. But his suit soon runs out of power and he has to return to base and

recharge it. Once recharged you can summon the captain again. No cost.

::POWERUPS

Heavy Shell:These shells explode on contact with an enemy, doing collateral damage, but are very slow, and

not useful against large amounts of enemies. Has a very slow reload.

Minigun: Very fast heavy firepower. But a slow cool down if you overheat. And a slow reload if you run out.

Plasma: Moderate strength and speed. No need to be reloaded, but does little damage to larger enemies.

Flame Bullets: Gives your shots a firey aura, burning anything they hit

Gib Bullets: Kills any enemy, instantly. This powerup runs out quickly, and is rare.

Freeze Bullets: Freezes enemies for a short amount of time, if you kill them while they are frozen, they will break.

Shield: Shield your base for a period of time, while you can shoot through the shield and nothing can enter.

Seems like this game idea would benefit from being simplified. I love the idea of finite towers that you can switch between - adds a good bit of hands-on to the game type.

The soldiers etc. I'm not really a fan of, but that might just be me. I think it might take to focus away from the core gameplay mechanic, and comes across kind of like feature creep.

Other than that, I'd like to see this in action. Any plans to actually make it?

Thankyou. And the soldiers, I dunno I just threw them in, felt like the idea was missing something. But I'll program them anyway and see how they work out.

And yes, actually I'll be starting this project soon…the graphics are going to be in silhouette style, as I don't want to spend too much time on them, but on effects and gameplay. So this should be a cake walk.
