Doesn't this just have one of the best intros like, ever.
Anyways, I'm feeling a bit better. I'm guessing I get down in the slumps cause I hold myself to such a high standard when it comes to my art. And when I don't reach that, I feel as if I'm traveling backwards. But I think I'm alright, so here, have some actual work this time.Figured I was in the mood to start creating a badass, sci-fi, fat guy.Instead of taking my sweet time blocking in the shape and silhouette of the character, I did it in Zbrush4R2 using the dynamesh figures. This saved me a lot of time, and let me experiment with shape in all 3 dimensions. As you can see, I initially planned for him to have two fingers only. I'll see how that plays out in the final design. Now in past endeavors, I usually pose a skeleton in 3DsMax, or a mannequin in Zbrush, and then design my character over that. But it takes a while to find a pose I want, and even then, I have to come up with a design to fit it. I decided this time to use the basemesh I made in Zbrush as a reference to the shape of the character. This is my base design I came up with that I'll use to make five others.I have a bunch of design ideas for this guy, but I'm gonna keep the base like this and saved the ideas for the other five. Now as for finished work. This is an assignment I did for my DrawingII class. Massonite board covered with gesso, with a brushed in texture.Conte, and charcoal was used.Despair"the idea was to take this old picture of me as a kid, and make it grim, dirty, in pain, sorrow in the eyes, black tears, wrinkles. I wanted to project my current self onto myself as a youth."
looks kinda sorta like rez. no, not the fat red one
You rang?
Where's my pizza?
