So like, I've just been going through the motions recently. Same as always.I'm done with this semester of class, thank the fucking GODS. Art history assignments and finals practically raped me, raped me real gud. But I'm alive.Anything else interesting? No. Not really.I managed to beat three more games in my massive library: Asura's Wrath, Bayonetta, and Uncharted 3.All great games, though the ending to Uncharted 3 felt kinda lackluster, so did Asura's Wrath. Bayonetta's was perfect.I also promised art with my last blog, so here be art.—-Excuse the horrible quality. I don't have a good camera, and they are all too big to scan in—-"Post-processing"Mixed-media (india ink, acrylic, marker)Notes: Piece was inspired by a scene I saw while I was in Scotland and wandering around the country-side. Lots of trees cut down, my ex said there used to be whole forests of trees there. Only the stumps were left as proof. Real glum scene."Untitled"Acrylic on canvasNotes: I really love crows."All as One"India ink and markerNotes: Somewhere in this piece is what was left of my sanity. Also these little doodles that I forgot I did.
i absolutely love the dilapidated doodles.
I really love All As One. They're all great, of course, but that one especially. You were in Scotland? Neat. I might be going there soon.
Art History? My project was just talking about an arbitrary painting, and my final is a take-home online test. Easy as shit.
I've never actually played ANY of those games, though Bayonetta looks pretty cool. I mean, as cool as some imaginative game developer's wet dream can be.I've been playing Scribblenauts Unlimited, I love the ridiculous things you can do in that game. These paintings are cool, they are like Andy Warhol paintings, except not crap because they have some creativity in them. And the digitals are awesome as always, do you just start with black and scribble away lighting until it looks good?@Mike: Thankyou, I was trying to get better at environments and stuff, since I very rarely do them outside of traditionally.
@Pounce: Haha, thanks, looks a lot better irl, but this is as close as I'll get quality-wise. And yea, I was in Scotland for two weeks back in August, pretty awesome. Glasgow felt really cluttered though, even for my standards, and I live in the heart of Denver.@Charlie: Lucky. My final was having to memorize the piece, artist, date the piece was made in, artists culture, and medium on about 23 pieces. I also had to write a 3-5 paragraph essay which contained 3 examples of art from three different movements of art from 3 different centuries, identify them like the other 23, and talk about their impact. Needless to say, it was horrible. As for the scribbles you like, yea, I work completely from a silhouette and just start erasing in highlights and shapes. I add value on some pieces, either working from light to dark, or dark to light. May not be the uber-quality a lot of other concept-artists are doing, but I do it cause it's fun.If art isn't fun to me, I just lose interest. It's also damn stylish.
