I said I'd post some of my graphic design work if I ever got the chance, so here's a bit. It's not much, because I really haven't cared about a lot of it, soooo… most pieces are in a million different places around the house, and some even completely lost, woops. This is my monogram I had to make in Type I. My first name starts with an M, and my last name starts with an M. So yea.Wine labels we had to re-design for any Colorado winery. I chose Spero. This was my Type I final. We had to take lyrics from any quote or song and fit them in a certain box dimension in a creative way or whatever. The quote is from the song 'Imitation Is the Sincerest Form of Battery' by Every Time I Die.We had to do a concert poster for a classical composer/musician that lived during a certain time period. I did Franz Schubert, some Austrian composer or something. I forgot all that shit. Anyways, the whole poster is the Austrian flag. And here is one of the other ideas I had but threw away in the end. There was one other, but I lost it.Had to pick a graphic designer and try and imitate their style but make my own work at the same time. I chose April Greiman. Look up her work and you'll see a bit how I came up with this, lol. That is also my face used in the lower-right corner, ha.We had to take a company once more, and re-design a logo. I chose the skate shoe company Vox.I have a pair, they're alright, but not skateable, lol. They do have a cool logo though. This is my most recent project. We had to choose an opera or something, and design a poster for it. So I chose Don Giovanni, cause I just love dark stuff like that. The Commendatore, fuck yea.And these are just previous ideas before the final.Enjoy. Until next time when I'm not a lazy ass.
Ironic song choice.
What was the thought process behind the font in the first Vox footware logo?Haha, I already knew the song was an ironic choice, but it was too good to not include in this blog.
If you mean the 'VOX' name itself, well, that's not a font used there. I did that all by hand because no base or exotic font or -whatever- would do it for me. As for the 'footwear' part. I completely forgot, and all that's left of the thought process there is the preliminary sketches I have scrawled down somewhere.Woah, I saw MSI live last week. I saw the blog title in the RA, and was like "I don't even care what the blog is about, I'm going to post the MSI song of the same title".
Your blog titles make me want to do that a lot, and I'm always disappointed. :(
