Symptoms of Insomnia

Posted by Extravisual on July 6, 2006, 7:24 a.m.

Last night was the first night I have ever stayed awake through. I was feeling great last night, but now I feel like crap. I have minor headaches, painful eyes, and a craving for water that no water bottles seem to quench. Thankfully though, diarrhea is not part of those symptoms. Among the worst symptoms of today is terminal boredom. I find myself looking at my contacts list every few seconds, as though I expect to find someone I wasn't notified about coming online. The best conversation I've had all day was with my cat, who, as you can imagine, is not very responsive. Another part of that boredom drives me to linger on Python prompt, as though expecting a sudden rush of knowledge to make me design the best program ever. I found myself so bored that I typed this code into Python:

for value in range(65534):
    print value

For those who don't know and can't guess, those two lines make Python count from 0 to 65533, printing each number individually. I watched the whole thing. Boy, am I bored. Why am I writing this? Why are you reading it?

Oh well. It doesn't matter.

I need some caffeine of sugar.

EDIT: I just made python count to 999999…
