Guess I've been a bit scarce recently. Well, I've been busy with a number of things. Diver mostly. For those who haven't, you can download the demo here. Yes, I know about the massive slowdowns that occur if you play for long enough, and I know that the bags of gold only give you 1 gold, not the number of gold that they appear to contain. Rest assured, those bugs have been fixed for the final version.
Of course, if you have any suggestions, or if you've found any new bugs, that feedback's more than welcome. I've already implemented/am busy implementing hazards, special upgrades, cliffs and caves, better graphics, music and sound effects, fishies in the background and am considering implementing gold nets and special swimsuits.I'm also busy with a bunch of other stuff, which I shall detail at length (and I do mean at length) in my next blog, which I plan to post on Diver's release date. Seeing as I currently have no Internet connection via my PC due to the phonebill not being paid, that release date will probably be sometime in September, provided my dad actually pays the bill then.Okay, what else? Robosquid Comp #3's going on at the moment. The theme is "Office", and if you win Rolf Soldaat will buy you a game off Steam (come in second place and he'll buy you a cheaper game off Steam). I'm not entering myself, because I have too much other stuff to do, but nothing's stopping YOU. Unless, y'know, you don't make games.I'm still writing this serial story thing. It updates some Mondays, some Wednesdays, and some Fridays. I try not to miss more than one update a week. =)That's about all I have to say right now. Speed should correlate more with reducing slowing down decay of speed rather than increasing speed. Much too fast when not weighed down with gold. On that note, you could allow a bar on the menu that enables the player to set a maximum speedThe two stats are rather dry. Oxygen only needs to be raised slightly, gold clutters the screen fast enough that speed is required to be able to lift it and such limits cover oxygen with ease. Falls into mindless rounds being a tap at the down key, hold the left arrow and then skim back to the right while raising to unloadThe lagging of increasing speed to only be able to collect one extra gold serves to decay the collections into very fast blips. Blips that require I switch to using a mouseNarwhalsSomehow meow fails to notice that this game is purely a grinding game while his stats are increasing. This is sadly the general case, and people are willing to grind so long as their is superficial change@hel: I think we've had more downtime overall, though.
