Wow, I am actually learning more about spriting.
Oh, and here's my opener for this blog entry; new screens! I improved the brick tile, got rid of the old sidewalk, added a new hat, an enemy, textboxes, coins (though they do nothing yet.), smoother character images and more. Lots done. Pretty good start for spriting. Here's a tip, for the background, make the bricks have a much lighter border color. At the moment, it makes the game look too busy and actually hurts the eyes a bit.

When i mean lighten, i mean lighten the border to a a more maroonish color.

Yeah, until I can create a really awesome looking sidewalk, those'll stay. They're just temporary for now.
