Working on my spriting, still...

Scrapped everything I had implemented with my procedural generation work and started again. I stripped everything away except the generation engine.

Now I've got this robot as the main character. He can't do any fancy walljumps, but he has a burst-use jetpack and he's animated pretty well. I've always been awful at spritework but I'm happy with him.

I was thinking the basic idea for the game is that you were created on an assembly line, but have gone rogue and are trying to escape the robot production facility. Your only defense is stomping on enemy heads and your own wit.

No tiles yet. Not even sure I want them.

Here's one of the enemies, too. He gets startled if you get too close and alerts everyone else of your presence.

looks pretty good imo.

looks cool, but I don't like some of the color choices for some of the blocks. the gray ones in the last pic look great and fits in well, but the colors used in the first 3 pics, I'm not too sure they fit well. They should look "colder".

Personally, I liked the more detailed blocks in the old version of this game, but I like the direction your going with the design in this version more.

I hope you understand what I mean.

I understand. Right now, the blocks may as well be placeholders. They have a random color each time the room is generated.

… Except mine doesn't look nearly that good.

… needs some texture to it. way to dull and boring looking. it really doesn't make me want to explore at all lol.
