Omg Ferret can blog.

Haven’t put something on the front page in a while.

Well I’m back from camping, it was pretty darn cool. Did lots of hiking and swimming, saw a rather large brown bear, and sat around a campfire talking for hours. On the way up there my friends and I got stuck in traffic that delayed us by 90 minutes, once we reached the mountains it was pitch black and I messed up on reading some of the signs and ended up driving down the wrong road for a while. When we got to the campsite it was half an hour past midnight, no moon, and below freezing temperature; so we decided to not set up a tent and sleep in my car. Holy shit I don’t want to do that again, it was so cold and uncomfortable I didn’t sleep until the sun was up and shinning on me, and even when I did it was for only 2 hours. Other than that though, everything went pretty smoothly.23,841

When I got home I went through a few 64D blogs, and damn, lots of music going around… but also JuurianChi’s blog, which caught my attention. His blog certainly isn’t the first blog on 64D to talk about problems in life; I’d say a majority of us are socially awkward people, and growing up is tough. I think it’s pretty healthy to put thoughts down on record and share them, sure we may be slightly anonymous but I wouldn’t say we’re strangers. We all need some positive reinforcement once in a while, for both our small emotional issues and our large personal problems. A good amount of us have posted about our lives, our quests for self identification, for love, for acknowledgement, and sometimes simply for finding what makes us smile. Life is really fucking strange, half the time I don’t know where things will go, where I’ll go, or who I am. Our generation simply doesn’t coexists well with the awkwardness of growing up. Humans are pleasure seekers, we want to be happy all the time, and people our age have lived their entire lives with pleasure being granted almost instantaneously. You want entertainment? Flip open a phone, turn on the television, jump on your computer, grab your controller, it’s all around us and it’s all easily obtainable. You want food? Go the the fridge, grab a snack from the pantry, go the the grocery, go to a fast food restaurant, it’s all around us and it’s all easily obtainable. You want to socialize? Pull out your cellphone, jump on skype, join a chat room, post on a forum, comment on a facebook status, yadda yadda yadda easily obtainable. You want love? You want to know your niche in life? You want to know who you are? All of our emotional needs take time, time that just doesn’t feel right in our instantaneous lives. This is my reasoning for why so many people get depressed these days, things just feel out of reach to us, out of our control, and that upsets us because we like control. We like controlling when we talk to people, we like controlling when we're hungry and when we're not, we like getting pleasure when we want it. When we can’t control something as seemingly small as our emotions we feel empty, and that emptiness doesn’t feel small at all.

What does all of this mean though? Does this mean that there is no hope to get these emotional needs? Of course not. Just. Be. Patient. Would you want love and identity to be just as instantaneous as the rest of your life? Available on every street corner and advertised on the right side of youtube videos? Of course not, that would kill the beauty of it all, that would kill it’s purpose. Does that mean that you should sit back and hope for something to come your way? Of course not, that’s the thing about life, you have to live. Get out there, talk to people, we are social animals and are extremely dependent on other people. Obviously I can’t say want everyone needs, and I’m getting away from my point: don’t get caught up on something just because it’s taking time to develop, don’t completely depend on others for happiness while at the same time don’t completely depend on yourself, life is strangely long don’t rush it, it’s not about the destination.

While you guys haven’t seen me blog for quite some time and I don’t comment often, I actually do like talking to people. A lot. So chat it up with me some time :D All my contact info is on my profile. (Which there really should be a link to on the user page somewhere…)

And yeah. Stupid blog. It’s just my input, idk what the hell I’m talking about, but I don’t think anyone does.

that biggest paragraph pretty much sums up everything i've been having to grapple with the last few months. and expresses it more eloquently than i could ever hope to do.

rofl @ Qwilder

but yeah, i think the hardest thing about being human is realizing it may take your whole life just to figure out who you "are". you should definitely write some more blogs like these as they are very thought-provoking.
