I'm not even really sure where to start, but I guess I can just say that for a brief moment in time I got some internet fame.
Where it began:Roughly a week ago I posted a comment (image) on a 5secondfilm video called "New Mission" where the main agent creates confusion from poor choice in mission name. 5secondfilms has usually been a pretty good place to post and read funny comments, once you get past the fad comments like the CSI: Miami and the "tits" jokes, people generally post genuinely clever comments. It's probably where I've gotten the majority of my "top comments" but this particular one outdid them all. As of now, the comment I posted under the name "ferretspy440" has 1753 upvotes and 8 downvotes with 36 replies (not counting their replies).Where it seemed dismal:
A newer tradition of 5SF is to post a video where the crew of 5SF sit in front of a greenscreen and talk about what comments they felt were funny. I'd say a majority of the comments listed in their videos are listed simply because they are so dumb it's easy to make fun of them, but every so often they pick the best of the bunch. However, this particular week that I had made my comment, 5SF had declared that they were only taking comments from their main site, 5secondfilms.com. Feeling confident in my comment, I reposted it on their main site and waited for comment on the week to arrive. At the end of the week, the "Comments of the Week" video came and went without mention of me or my comment. I was sad at first but it was nice to see a few people mention my absence in the comments below.Highlights are bad for you :(Where I triumphed:
Then this happens. Skip to 4:35 if you don't want to see the rest of the video. All I ever really wanted from the 5SF team was a little recognition; getting this much though, it's overwhelming. I feel good.32,758I don't want to feel like a show off, it's really not my main intention. I just feel really happy, and thought I'd share this little story.
Be afraid, very afraid…
