Alright. Before reinstalling my OS, I decided that I was going to some more stuff. I got an ethernet card and installed it today (Although in a non-working port, so I had to move it <_<) and got my LAN up and running. Although my computer and modem wont communicate. That means, no broadband. Which sucks. A lot. Oh yeah, flashback, my connection can get up to 20Mbps.
So far I have called tech support 3 times. One: reinstall your OS. Two: An idiot who thinks I am an idiot. Three: Get a techie to come over, or reinstall your OS.I'm going to get a techie that I know over, and if THAT dosen't work, then I guess it really is reinstall time.God damn.
Good luck with that.
Damn, that sucks.
Yep.
Myconnection is normally 54mbps =)
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Have you installed the drivers for the LAN card? Most of the time they aren't important, but it can help a lot.
Or just use cable. =)
did you push the lever that says "Broken - Fixed" to the Fixed side?
Often people have these in the "Broken" state…… The ethernet card didn't come with drivers. Although it works perfectly with Windows anyway.
And I broke the lever out of a fit of temper.damn. You're screwed then. Next time, remember to use the 'fixed' state.
You may also be using the wrong cat5 cable. There are 2 types, based on the wiring - the first is used for two computers directly, and the second used for modems/routers/hubs/etc. If the cable is the wrong type, it ain't gunna work.
