For those of you who have been following the development of my FPS engine, you're probably used to the incremental updates I've been giving… if not, then you might enjoy this more, but in any case, I've got another updated demo!
I've also got an updated screenshot! This demo adds:-Bullet collisions with walls-Skybox-Smoother collisions with wallsEnjoy both, and thanks for trying it out! [:)]Click here to download! (2.25 Mb)By the way, PLEASE let me know how this demo runs for you… the FPS is the top number on the HUD!
that's a big file… lemme check it out :D
Man that was bad. Really, really awful… Yeah right! Ok I got 60 fps which is pretty good considering that my graphics card is not the best in the world. That first red platform I didn't seem to be able to jump on it? Love the skybox and everything of course (although the jump boost thing is my favourite so far). Definitely would like to see where this is going. :)
Forgot to ask: Like the ping noises when you hit shoot the walls - going to add ricochet to the bullet movement? Hmm although it might slow things down and not really add anything to the game.
That skybox is smexy. I've been considering tying out 3d but I don't have any models to work with and I don't have any modeling software.
Also, I sure as hell don't want to use GM's built in d3d drawing functions. (Eg d3d_draw_cube or whatever)-ArcPS - 60 FPS :)
-Arck, it ran smoothly at 60… the sky's only problem is that the sun is pointing the other way than the lighting…
Nice. I have a very crappy 64MB integrated card, and it ran at 30+ the entire time.
hehe… already an update? and you gotta teach me smooth 3D collisions plz :D
Wow, that is sweet! On my schools computer, it runs consistently at 59 fps! And those computers suck! And on top of the fact that it ran great, it was absolutely draw-jopping to look at!
I ran a average 45 fps through the game. Nice to see you are sharing your knowledge of 3D with every one.
The trampoline was really cool.
