Well, I haven’t posted here for a while, so I thought I’d bring everyone up to speed and post the status of all the stuff I’ve been working on!
HT3D news - Since I last posted a blog here, Hover Tank 3D has been reviewed at Game Maker Games, achieving a solid score of 8! I am glad that it finally got reviewed, and I sent my thanks to Jabberwock for an excellent write-up.HT3D has also been added to the Staff Choice section of the GMC! Ablach Blackrat posted an equally good review, and I have also thanked him… I am overwhelmed by all this, it’s been 8 months since it’s release, and the game is still getting recognition, and is being downloaded steadily. Thanks to everyone who has supported the game, I hope to get a sequel out sometime that you all will truly enjoy even more.In other news (and as many of you probably know already), I have been asked to help out the moderating team over at the GMC, watching over the graphics and sound sections. I had previously maintained the position that I would not join the team if they offered, but these forums are small, and deal with things that I am interested in, so it shouldn’t mean much more GMC time than normal for me. I must say though, there have already been quite a bit to do… I know the forum has tons of viewers, and can move fast, but sometimes it seems even busier when you can view things from behind the scenes. In any case, it’s fun so far - hopefully I don’t have any problems with any you guys over there!Alright, on to the progress report. Here’s a quick list of my current projects, and what I’ve been up to, for anyone who has been following one or more of them. Some of you may not have heard of a few of these projects, but that is because I have not formally announced them yet!FPS Demo – Still working on it, but slowly. There have been a lot of other, smaller things that I’d like to get done before I put too much more time into this, especially since creating an animation system for it is going to take a great deal of time.Aster Blaster – I have added framework into the game to make missions fairly easy to add into the game, but have yet to actually construct any. Though I am still interested in finishing this project, I think some of my other work may come first, since most of the other stuff has been a bit better received.Reflect Mini Game Arcade – This is a project that Ds (from eo) have started working on, and which will be open-submission soon for people hoping to create a mini game and have it released in a pack with others. The idea behind this is to have a single exe game that include a pack of 5+ mini games, all of which conform to a few standards of design and take advantage of the Reflect Account System somehow. Since all the games will be in one group, they will only require you to log in with the game hub (the area where you select a game to play) once, and then you’ll be able to use all the games without a hitch. I’m developing a defend-your-base kind of game, which will feature Gunner McJack. I’ll post a demo of it on 64 Digits soon, so people get an idea of what it will be like, and I will also post the specs for game submissions for the mini game collection, for those who may be interested.Well, that just about wraps things up. I’ll be posting with updates again sometime soon, so stay tuned! Thanks for reading!
HT3D2 has not died… it's just not my priority at the moment. [:)]
Hmmm… I'm gonna have to ask you about that mini-game thing later… I probably should before I spam the Graphics and Sound forums… XD
Congrats on becoming a GMC mod! [^^]
Thanks!
Yeah. you'll do a fine job. Cant wait (even if it takes a year) for HT3D2
